"Are you alright?" A familiar, short-haired redhead looked down at my sprawled body. Her brows were knitted together, worrying lines forming on her forehead despite being so young. "Great.." I mumbled, slowly pushing myself forward off of the grass-covered ground. Trying my best to hide my pained expression, I clutched the left side of my torso. "Seriously, Will?" I snapped at my friend, squinting slightly in the face of the sun.

"Oh c'mon [Y/N]! It was an accident," he folded his arms. Gunther, Eld, and Oluo had all zipped to the ground, their ODM gear clinking against their bodies. "And if I accidentally break your arm?" I retorted, shooting him a warning look. I moved my hands down my uniform in an attempt to clear it of the dirt that had infiltrated the cheap fabric. Just as he opened his mouth to respond, another person zipped to the ground.

Captain Levi looked up at us all, his tired eyes and dull expression being enough to cause Will to falter. "That was shit, do it again." The shorter man stepped toward Will, looking up at him. His tone was unamused as he spoke once more, "and this time focus on taking out the practice titans, not your own team." I held back a grin, tilting my head at Will mockingly.

And then I woke up.

Sweat covered my forehead, sliding down my skin rapidly. I could feel my chest heaving up and down, the only sound being my heavy breathing. It was only a few seconds before I looked over at my quarter's door being opened. A familiar, glasses-wearing brunette peered over at me with an expression of worry. Silently, I pushed my hair back and took a deep breath.

"What is it?" I asked, gingerly moving to the side of my bed. I refused to meet their gaze and kept my eyes locked on the many bruises that cascaded down my arms and legs. A sharp sense of pain shot through my ribs, and I grimaced. "Are you sure you don't want the medicine, [Y/N]?" they spoke, and I could feel the burn of their eyes on me.

"I'm sure, Hange. Thank you. It shouldn't be wasted on me." I heard their footsteps creak against the wooden floor, and suddenly their hands clasped under my arms. "..Let me help, and, for the record, it wouldn't be wasted on you," they spoke softly - in much contrast to their usual loud and energetic tone. I allowed them to help me to my feet, and finally mustered up the courage to look up at them. Their deep, curious brown eyes analyzed my features, and I could feel my face starting to heat up more than usual. "So," I looked down at their arms briefly, which had dropped to their side, "what is it?" I questioned.

"Erwin wants you to join in on a meeting we're having- Armin may have figured out the Female Titan's identity." Hange looked down at me, seemingly trying to gauge my reaction. Being in such close proximity to them was starting to mess with my head, and I was sure I had heard them wrong at first. "..What?" I looked back up at them again, my mouth slightly agape out of shock.

A few seconds later, I was half running, half limping down the hallway. The Section Commander was chasing after me, their arm outstretched, "[Y/N]! You shouldn't be moving this much!" They called out, a tone of distress accompanying their words. "Funny. Usually, I'm the one telling you that, Section Commander!" I remarked, yelling back. Stopping in front of the door to the meeting room, I opened it without hesitation and barged inside.

I was greeted with shocked expressions- at least mostly, whereas Captain Levi had his usually stoic features intact. "[Y/N], what are you doing awake?" The stuttery question came from Armin as he looked at me carefully. Hange suddenly ran up behind me, skidding to a stop in the doorway. "You know who the Female Titan is?" I blurted, knowing I probably had a crazed expression. My eyes were wide, and I still hadn't cleaned up entirely from the expedition.

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught Levi shooting a disapproving expression toward the Section Commander. "What? She deserved to know!" I could hear them walking toward the table, yet kept my eyes trained on Armin. Abruptly, Mikasa joined the conversation.
