It felt like my fingers were going to snap at how hard I was clutching onto the edge of the wall, tucking my face into my chest. The wind that had picked up from the fall of the Colossal Titan ravaged my body, almost sending me off of the opposite side.

"Hey- hey you can get up now," a finger dug into my shoulder, poking me harshly. The blonde man from earlier knelt beside me. Rain was pouring down on both of us.

It took me a few seconds to process his words, and I slowly opened my eyes. My breathing resumed too, as I didn't realize I'd been holding it. "Shit..." I whispered, retracting my slick grip and standing. The sudden stability made me dizzy, and I wobbled slightly.

Still bodies were scattered along the top of the wall, flung in various forms and poses. I blinked a couple of times, steadying myself. Everything is going so fast that it feels almost slow. And then it all hit me at once like I'd been kicked in the gut.

Hange. Hange had been right next to the blast.

Throwing all previous stubbornness to the side, I began stumbling around wildly. My eyes widened, and my heartbeat went faster and faster at the more unresponsive soldiers I saw. "HANGE!" I yelled, my voice coming out as hoarse and scratchy.

I almost slipped a few times on the wet ground, my dampened hair almost slapping me in the face at my jagged movements.

"HANGE! WHERE'S THE SECTION COMMANDER?!" My voice broke between the words, and I let out an almost guttural hack.

The same blonde man grabbed my arm, grimacing as he held me steady when I heaved and gagged. "Kid, c'mon, take a minute and control yourself-"

I shook my arm roughly out of his grip, glaring at him. "I don't have time for your heroic bullshit," I spat, nearly choking once again. Although I knew that he meant well. He responded with an irritated sigh.

He let me go on my way, and I continued to stumble through the scattered soldiers. Everyone was shaken into disarray, and the rain wasn't helping with any sort of organization as people started to pull up their hoods.

My steps faltered when I saw Moblit, but not just him. He stood over Hange, shock covering the man's face mercilessly. I felt my pace increase, and suddenly I was running over to the two.

"Hange," I breathed, rushing past him and kneeling by their side. He looked frozen, completely baffled. "Moblit," I looked up at him, "MOBLIT-" I coughed, finally snapping him out of whatever trance he had seemingly been in.

"Help me. Now." I pushed back the tears that were threatening to form, looking back down. I pressed two fingers to their neck, recognizing a terrifyingly faint pulse. The man nodded and frantically ran off to get materials within the chaos.

My eyes traced their long body, and I felt my breath hitch in my throat. Their face was covered in burns and bruises, and their shirt had been cut open at the top. A long gash ran along their collarbone, wide and threatening.

I gently grabbed their soaked glasses, pushing them up and over their head. I proceeded to remove them entirely, placing them to the side. Their eyelashes were long and shiny from the rain, and I felt my stomach drop.

All I want is to see those crazed brown eyes, always lit up and shining no matter what situation we've been in. I've never wanted to see them so badly in my life.

Dropping my gaze from their face, I slowly moved to their arm. I reached out gingerly, taking their hand with caution. Their skin was rough and calloused from numerous experiments and long nights of work. Yet it felt so faultless at the same time.

My mind was scolding me, telling me to drop my grip and focus on nursing my superior back to health. This will only end painfully, you know that [Y/N]. Any sort of feelings are bound to end in anguish with a world like this. Do you want to prove Levi correct? I shut my eyes.
