A/N: I wanted to include y/n's pov of the female titan encounter in the forest- I wrote hange's pov a bit less detailed and faster-paced because I believe that's how it would've played out in their equally fast-paced mind. so hopefully this clears up anything anyone was confused on:) you can think of this as a "bonus chapter" if you'd like.

"Trust in us, please, Eren! I'm begging you!" Petra shook the young boy's shoulders, completely frazzled from our current situation, and her light hazel eyes were swirling with a pleading hysteria. I took a deep breath, turning away from the frantic woman.

My hair brushed past my shoulders as I zipped through the air with the rest of the squad, and my brows were furrowed in focus. I can't believe how many of our comrades she killed. How is she so... intelligent?

With a swift turn, I rounded a large tree. Will fell into stride beside me. "Be careful, [Y/N], alright?" He yelled over the sound of the gas propelling us forward. I nodded, thinking nothing of it, and continued the pursuit.

"Captain Levi? Is that you?" Gunther called out from not too far ahead, moving slightly faster than the rest of us. I peered past him, spotting a shadowed figure within the trees.

"Captain! It's us!" I yelled, pushing faster. The adrenaline was surging through my body, and Petra and Oluo had caught up behind us. Will furrowed his brows from beside me.

Gunther was close, a few mere feet from the figure. Suddenly Eld moved out from behind one of the trees, stepping in line with our path. "Captain Levi! Sir!" He yelled, but once again there was no response.

After a few more seconds the figure whipped around without warning, and I saw Oluo falter slightly. And then I saw why he faltered. The stranger had unsheathed one of the blades from their ODM gear, pivoting in their spot.

"GUNTHER! WAIT!" Petra screamed as the rest of us were unable to form any sort of sentence. But it was too late.

Blood spewed like a fountain from Gunther's nape as the stranger dug the blade into his neck, similar to how we'd kill the Titans. I felt my heart drop, and the hairs on my skin stood up alarmingly.

"NO!" Eld shouted, propelling himself forward to chase after the killer. Gunther's body dropped down into the forest's ground, choking and gagging. My eyes widened in the realization that one of my closest friends had just been killed in seconds right in front of my eyes.

"WAIT!" I yelled, looking back at Eren, "WE CAN'T LET THE FEMALE TITAN TAKE HIM!"

I zipped down to the ground, holding the handle on my blades firmly. Reluctantly, Eld made his way down as well. Will and Oluo were next, and I watched the treeline carefully.

Petra came down last. "DON'T BE A COWARD! COME HERE!" She cried, gritting her teeth together. I swallowed the uncomfortable feeling that had formed in my throat, holding back tears. You signed up for this, [Y/N], you know the consequences.

I felt a hand grip my own and looked up at Will standing next to me. His tense posture sent a shiver down my spine, and I quickly looked away. "You remember that day in the forest, right? When you told me you were planning on joining the Survey Corps?" I spoke softly.

He nodded, and I kept my eyes trained on the ground as I spoke. "I still don't want to have to watch your body be lowered into the ground. So don't make me, okay?"

The reality of the situation was setting in, and I rolled my shoulders. Eld and Eren were speaking behind us, but I didn't have the energy to gauge what they were saying. The tall man went quiet for a few moments. We could die at any moment. No matter how strong we are.
