Wind flickered at my face like cold flames, shocking my system slightly. I allowed my eyes to register the bright colours of the outside world, the smell of dew soaked grass. Being in prison for two years had slightly deprived me of the tiny amount of social skills i had left, so I made sure to keep my head bowed low as i strode quickly down the street. I didn't know where I was going, but it most definitely wasn't home. Probably because I didnt have one anymore. My father said he didnt want an abuser in his household which made me laugh as he seems to have forgotten the way he used to beat my mother black and blue. But of course, he's the boss.

The wind's current was ever growing stronger and the tips of my fingers began to tingle, so I shoved them in my coat pocket where they collided with a peice of folded, crisp paper. My lips stretched into a grin as i fingered the sheet carefully so not to crease it. Slowly I drew it from the pocket of my coat and unfolded it. I scanned over every carefully written word and let his voice ring in my ears, as if he were here, reading it to me.

Phil.

Even the thought of his name sent my stomach into a frenzy of flips and twists. The whole feeling was ruined though, when that tiny voice in the back of my mind reminded me that he was gone.

I still hadn't let go though, I couldnt break another promise.

My head was still spinning from the relief of being free but i kept my neck in the uncofortable horizontal position it had been in since i stepped out of the prison, avoiding any kind of human interaction. The sound of traffic roared in my ears and I glanced up before sprinting out

Straight into the road

Straight into the path of an oncoming car

Short yes

This was just a filler so i am forgiven
