"Rachel do I look okay?"  I asked.

"Yeah, you look way better than I do."

"I beg to differ."  I replied putting on some lip gloss.

I was wearing a long sleeve gray t-shirt with my favorite cream Hollister sweater.  I paired it with dark skinny jeans and my high boots. Rachel did my hair, so I had large curls and she picked out a pair of stud earrings for me.

Rachel was wearing a black skirt with leggings underneath and a red blouse.  She was also wearing her favorite black combat boots with studs on the toes.  I did her hair in a dutch braid that led into a messy bun, she had got a new pair of earrings from the mall last month, small red-velvet hearts, and she wore those.

"I wish Harry was here to see me all dressed up."  said Rachel nearly poking her eye with a mascara wand.

"Well I think it is only fair that he gets to spend New Years with his family."

"Yeah I know, I just wish he was here.  I guess I will always be wishing that."  she said chuckling to herself.

"Girls?"  called our mom from downstairs.  "Time to go."

Rachel and I grabbed our black coats and trampled down the stairs.

"You girls look just lovely."  exclaimed my mom.

"Thanks mom."  Rachel and I both said.

"Alright you guys ready to go and meet Mark and his family?"  she asked.

"Yeah totally."  Rachel made out.

"Mmmmhmmmm." was all I could mumble.

We pulled into the parking lot of Olive Garden faster than I had expected, and let me just say it was packed!  I see a large wait in my future.  Rachel, mom, and I walked through the cold air to the front door.  A nice old man who was leaving with his wife held the door open for us.

"Thank you."  I said.  He just nodded and gave me a smile.  I loved seeing little old couples doing things together, like going to dinner.  So cute!

"Hi welcome to Olive Garden."  said a young girl who was working at the podium where you get your table number, and sadly a pager for long waits.

"Hi, we are meeting a Mark Kushner.  He had reservations."  my mother told the girl.

"Okay then."  she said as she grabbed three menus.  "Please follow me."

"Ready?"  Rachel whispered in my ear.

"Not exactly."  I whispered back.

"Me either."  she said.

The girl led us all the way to the back of the restaurant to a giant circle table.  I saw Mark and his three daughters, no wife.

"Hi Mark." said my mother giving him a hug.  "Mark these are two of my daughters Shelby, and Rachel."

"Nice to meet you."  he said shaking our hands.
