Authors Note:  Hey guys!  Sorry that the last update was kinda slow.  School had me a bit preoccupied but I sure hope the chapter was worth it!  Does everyone like the idea of having the first vote or comment get the dedication?  I hope so.  I really think it's very fun so...yeah :P

I looked down at Leighton's text and just wondered to myself.  I know I have been kinda rude lately since I haven't talked to him in forever.  I mean he is my best friend..I think?

To: Leighton

What do you mean?

I just waited for him to text me back, but in the mean time I had to find Rachel and tell her what happened.  I didn't even get down the rope ladder before my phone went off.

From: Leighton

What do YOU mean?  We have been planning this for weeks.

Now I was just even more confused.  Planning what for weeks?  Was Leighton messing with me?  Did he even like me still?

To: Leighton

Hey I know I haven't been very friendly lately, but I'm being 100% honest when I say I don't know what you mean.  What have we been planning?  Look I'm sorry if I have been mean to you in any way, but will you please tell me what you mean.

I sent the text with much hesitation, but ran back to the backyard and went to get Rachel.  She was in a deep conversation with Dani and El, but I didn't care.  I had to tell Rachel what happened.  I know it may sound crazy, but I think those five European boys brought Rachel and I closer together.

"Rachel come here."  I said dragging her away from Dani and El.  They both gave me interesting stares, but I went on and still dragged Rachel away.

"Shelby what are you doing?"  asked Rachel a bit annoyed.

"Rachel look at me!"  I told her.

She turned around and her eyes went wide.

"Shelby are you okay?  Your eyes are red.  Have you been crying?  And you look really flustered.  What happened?"  she asked suddenly worried about me.

"Niall nearly asked me out!"  I whisper yelled in her face.  Her face lit up, and her eyes grew so big I swear she looked like Bugsy on Bedtime Stories.

"That's amazing!"  She yelled.  "Wait did you say nearly?"

"Yeah.  My stupid phone went off just as he was about to ask me."  I told her.

"What the heck?  Who would text you at that time?  I mean what are the odds?"

"It was Leighton.  He asked me where the hell I was.  I don't know what he is talking about, but he seams to think that I do."

Rachel just looked at me puzzled trying to figure out for herself what in the world he meant.  Then my phone went off again.

"That's him right?"  asked Rachel.

"Yeah."  I opened the text.

From: Leighton

Yeah you haven't been very friendly.  I call you all the time and I text you and you never answer.  You kinda disappeared from me and now u forgot our plans.  We were supposed to go to the 'Back To the Future' movie marathon in Loring Park tonight!  Remember...they show the three 'Back to the Future' movies in the park on the giant projection screen they set up....

I mean it's not like we go every year...we just have had this tradition for what 4 years now?

I gasped when I read his text.  Oh my gosh!  I can't believe I forgot!  We did do that every year!  My heart sank to the bottom of my chest, and I got an instant headache.

"Shelby?" asked Rachel.  "Are you okay?"

"I forgot the movie marathon in the park.  Leighton and I have been planning that for forever!"  I sat on the grass holding my head in my hands.

Then Dani and El came over.

"Hey um...Shelby are you okay?"  asked El obviously concerned.

"Yeah."  i said.  "It's just..."  Then it all spilled out...really fast!  "It's just Niall nearly asked me out and I really wanted him to but, my friend texted me and Niall left and I forgot plans that I had with my best friend in the entire world that we made weeks ago!"

"Wow thats heavy."  said Dani.  "Maybe we can help.  Is it to late to go meet your friend wherever he is?"

I wiped some tears off my red cheeks.  "I don't know.  I would have to ask him."

To: Leighton

Hey.  I am so srry I didn't mean to be so mean.  I truly spaced the fact we had plans I'm so srry.  Please forgive me.  Is it to late for me to go and meet you in Loring Park?

I sent the text and Dani, El, Rachel and I waited.  Everyone else had drifted to the bonfire so no one really noticed us all huddled together.  We all slightly jumped when my phone buzzed.

"What did he say"  asked El.

"Is it too late?"  asked Dani.

"Shelby see what he said!" yelled Rachel.

I opened to text and let out a sigh of relief.

From: Leighton

It's not too late, and I forgive you  Meet me in the park.  I have the candy as long as you bring the Coke.

"He forgave me."  I said a bit shocked.

"Well what are we waiting for?"  asked El.  "You have to go get ready!"

Dani and Rachel pulled me into the house while El went to explain that she needed Paul to take me to Loring Park...in a freaking limo!

"We have to hurry up Rachel!  Shelby needs to look her best."  said Dani.

"Danielle.  It's just Leighton.  I don't have a crush on him or anything.  Why do I need to look perfect?"  I asked not wanting to get all dressed up.

"It doesn't matter.  You still can look cute!"  said Dani pulling me up the stairs.  I led her to my room and the first thing she did was open my closet.

Her eyes grew wide!  She looked at all the pictures I had of the boys taped up on the closet doors.

"Wow."  she said.  "You really like them."

Rachel sat on my bed and nodded agreeing with Dani.

"You can have Niall, but Liam is mine."  she said laughing.  That made me and Rachel laugh as well.  Maybe becoming friends with Dani wouldn't be so hard.

Just then El appeared in my doorway.

"Paul's ready as soon as we are."  she said.  "Now Shelby?  Where is your makeup?"

Authors Note: Hey hope u liked.  P.S. I'm thinking of making a cast for my story and I was thinking of having Madison Davenport be Rachel.  What do u all think?

I will be sure to tell u when I get a different actress or actor idea for different characters.
