Marlon was right, it probably would've taken me days to get out of this place. Everywhere looks the same.
Despite the confusion of direction, it was nice and peaceful out here.

"So hows Ericson's treating you so far?" Louis asks.

"So far so good. Warm food, warm bed, people not trying to attack me in my sleep, and my feet are getting some rest."

"I'm glad you decided to stay." He says. "I think we're all getting a little sick of each other. Not that we hate one another, we can just get on each others nerves sometimes."

"Like siblings?"

"Exactly. Thats what we are. One big happy disfunctional, hormonal, dumb family. Wouldnt ask for anything more." He smiles. "See that over there?"

He points at a tree, and from the tree, hung a rabbit, with a rope tied to its ankle. The rabbit wasn't moving. Must've been up there for a while.
Louis unties the robe, resets the trap and flings the rabbit over his shoulder.

"On to the next."

"So you guys just eat rabbit?" I ask.

"Sometimes we go off to a nearby stream, has a bunch of fish travelling through it. We go over there every couple of days and see what we can catch."

He smirks.

"Why, you missing your dog food already?"

I roll my eyes, struggling to hide my amused expression.

We walk on a bit more and collect three more rabbits. The next one however, was still alive.

"Shit. This ones still moving." Louis says.

"So do we let it go?" I ask.

He thinks about it for a while, looking at the animal.

"Omar would probably complain about not having enough, but I dont want to kill the poor guy either. Rock, paper, scissors?"

He puts his fist out, ready to play.

"Fine."

We say the words in unison.

"Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!"

I went scissors, Louis went rock.

"Fuck." I groan.

"Thats how it is, man." He shrugs.

I step forward and put my hands over its head and around its shoulders.

"Sorry lil buddy." I whisper to the rabbit.

Louis turns his head away.

A sudden snap is made as the rabbits neck is broken. The body goes limp as the life leaves its eyes. I untie it and put it over my shoulder.

"Its done. Lets go."

"Sorry 'bout that, but I won, fair and square." He says.

"Yeah, yeah."

As we walk back to the school, I hear snarling and footsteps in the distance. I put my hand out to stop Louis, then put my finger to my lips to tell him to stay quiet.

He leans towards me and whispers.

"Whats wrong?"

I peek past a tree, seeing seven walkers making their way towards us. They dont know we're here though.

I whisper back to him.

"Walkers. Should we just leave em?"

He shakes his head.

"They'll probably just end up making their way back to the school and then we'd have to deal with them anyway. Plus, I'm bored."

He reaches into his jacket and pulls out... something.

"The fuck is that?" I ask.

"Oh this? This is Chairles." He smiles proudly.

He was holding a wooden leg chair, with nails hammered through the top. Inventive, I guess.

"If it works, it works. Follow me, we'll get behind them first." I whisper.

He nods.

We quietly make our way behind them, hiding behind two trees. I look over to Louis and he nods, letting me know he's ready. I do the same. Louis smirks before charging out, and bashes open a walkers head, causing its body to fall dead.
I run out and raise my axe, slamming it on top of a walkers skull, splitting it halfway.
Louis starts to mimick baseball commentations as a walker approaches him. As soon as its close enough he does a fancy spin with the club or mace or whatever you wanna call it, and whacks it into the walkers head. I had taken out two while he was amusing himself. Nothing fancy. Quick and clean, same as the first one.

"Aw cmon, have a little fun with it. Do something cool." He says. "I'll show ya."

He flips 'Chairles' into the air, catches it, then throws it at a walker, hitting it right in the forehead. Sadly, it was the handle that hit the walker. Louis quickly ran over, grabbed his weapon, kicked the walker back and killed it with a harsh whack from above.

"Totally meant to do that." He gives a thumbs up. "Go on, impress me."

Something cool. Okay.

I swing the axe from the right, hitting a walker in the neck, but it got stuck halfway. I rip it out, and smack its jaw with the handle, making it fall onto its side. I stand beside it and raise the axe into the air, then slam it down on its neck, severing the head.
I turn to Louis, little bits of blood speckled onto my hoodie.

"How was that?"

He stood there with a surprised face, clapping.

"C'mon, lets head back." He says.

We pick up the rabbits from where we left them, and continue walking to the school.

"Not bad (Y/n). I prefer style more than brutality, but not bad."

"Maybe you can show me how to do that neat throw." I smirk.

"And let you steal all my glory? Not happening."
