Great. The dreams are back. I thought I was rid of them. Wishful thinking I guess.

As much as I hated robbing and killing innocent folk, another part of me enjoyed killing the ones who deserved it. I always told myself that it was wrong to feel that way, but that never changed anything.

I hop out of bed, feeling more awake and refreshed than before. After slipping my shoes back on, I head outside to the cooking station, where the water basin sat.
Violet was also there, drinking a cup of coffee.

"Well, if it isnt the knight-in-shining-armour. Coming in with a girl wrapped up in your arms like that. You must feel like a real hero." She says.

Its weird hearing Violet joke around.

"Whats got you in such a good mood?" I ask, splashing water onto my face, giving it a thorough scrub.

"What, I cant be happy?"

She hands me a cloth, and I use it to dry off.

"I just didn't think it was possible."

"Shut up." She says, taking a sip to hide her grin.

The past five days she's had nothing but a dead expression. The only time she really smiles is when she finds herself amusing.

"Was I asleep long?" I ask.

She shrugs

"I dont keep track of your sleep schedule."

Fair enough.

"Is the girl up?"

She nods and takes another sip. "Just a bit before you actually. She went off in the main building to look for the kid. Should be with Louis in the piano room."

"We have a piano?"

"You've been a here a week and you didn't know that? Louis is always playing the damn thing."

I shrug my shoulders. It must be in the admin building then. I never really find myself going in there a whole lot, and when I do its just to go up to the office.

Violet finishes her drink, splashing what was left onto the ground. She puts it down to be washed and crosses her arms awkardly.

"I... I wanted to thank you. For the photo, I mean. I didn't say it when you gave it to me, but I should have. I was just--"

"Its fine. I get it."

She nods her head, not making eye contact.

"Well, um... I better, uh, go do my chores, before Marlon gets mad. Again. See ya."

I watch her as she leaves, surprised by what just happened. I think that was an apology? Maybe Violet isn't the quiet, cold loner I've made her out to be. Well, she might still be that, but she's got a nice side to her.

A piano room though. I wonder...

I walk towards the main building, listening close, and sure enough, someone's playing a piano. A lil' out of tune though. Still, it was nice.
Then, out comes Ruby from the main building, clutching her hand and cursing.

"Whats wrong?" I ask, running over.

"That kid bit me!"

"Jesus Christ, did he turn?"

She looks at me confused.

"What? No."

She shakes her bitten hand trying to numb the pain.

"Fuck, Ruby, dont do that to me. I thought you got bit or something."

"I did get bit!" She shouts, putting her hand up to my face.
