The early morning was just beginning as the sun, appearing as a soft glow behind the shadowed mountains, barely peaked over the horizon. The chaotic events in the village during the night had settled either from tiring themselves out or the excessive amount of alcohol consumed by them knocked them out. Either way, all was peaceful.

BOOM.

All was peaceful.

The side wall of the palace had suddenly erupted into fiery explosion. Through the smoke and debris of that explosion out flew a Mandalorian with a flushed Valkrien wrapped tightly within his arms. Thanks to your helmet, he was oblivious to what he's doing to you. How deeply of a mess you were in just by being within his presence. Even in a near death experience, you still couldn't rid the flutters.

Within your arm was the satchel in which contained the precious child that not only you, but the Mandalorian cared for deeply. It was a recent discovery that the two of you had found about each other. A discovery that in which you believe that formed some sort of bond between you. Little does the Mandalorian know though you feel more than a simple bond with him. No. You've once again allowed your emotions to run wild, and because of your lack of emotional control, you finally and shamefully confess to yourself that you may have completely and utterly fallen for Mando.

This is a crime punishable by death on your planet.

Just as he was gaining altitude you both felt something strike him in the back. Hard. The sound of metal breaking and the jetpack suddenly going silent was the last thing you heard before gravity started to pull you both in. Strangely, you were unable to move. You wanted to scream, but your lips were sealed shut. In fact you don't even think you were breathing. You just hung onto Mando, eyes wide as you watched death get closer and closer in silent terror.

Mando on the other hand was working desperately to revive the jetpack, but the efforts he made only caused you both to spin out of control. You could hear his hope vanishing as he swore at the thing, but with one hard knock of Mando's fist, the jetpack briefly fired up again. You were still spinning out of control, but you felt yourself elevate once again. A pinch of hope sparked within you before the jetpack suddenly went dead again. He slammed his fists into the machine once more and the jetpack briefly lifted you up.

Until it went silent again.

It repeated this stressful pattern until your bodies slammed against the ground. The fall wasn't fatal as it could've been, but it was still painful. The jetpack's brief revivals was what saved the three of you from doom, but it wasn't enough to ensure a soft landing.
Although the fall was painful, you found it difficult to ignore the tight, protective hold that Mando had on you. In fact, he took most of the fall's impact as your bodies collided with the unforgiving ground. Now were now lying on your sides, practically in a spooning position. You both stayed that way for a moment. Not because you enjoyed it, but because you were both were in shock, still processing what had just happened.

You knew that you were still alive, the pain in on your side ensured you that. The real worry was if the child was alive. Quickly, you released the satchel that was wrapped tightly within your arms the entire time and eagerly checked inside. Mando peaked over your shoulder, seeming to be just as worried for the child's condition as well. The child glanced up at the both of you, appearing to be unharmed. In fact, the little gremlin was giggling.

Both of your shoulders fell with a sigh of relief sounding though your helmets, and that's when you noticed that his arm was still wrapped around your waist. Very tightly around your waist. Not only that, but his body was snug up against yours. He must've noticed as well since he immediately retracted his arm, leaving you flushed and frozen with embarrassment.
