16 - Sightseeing

Eleanor.

I woke up to see Shawn laying beside me, snoring quietly and still in dreamland. I didn't have the best sleep after what i heard him say last night, but i must've heard wrongly. There's no way that Shawn actually likes me. I don't even know how i feel towards him. I stare at him while he's still asleep, how can someone look still look good even when they're sleeping? Shawn eventually wakes up and i quickly look away being nervous that I've been caught staring.

"Morning beautiful." He greets me in his morning voice which was very raspy and attractive. "Good morning." I reply while sitting up. "Come on, don't leave the bed yet, it's a Saturday." He groans. I turn around to face him and he's giving me a puppy eyes look and it's so hard not to say no to him. I lay back down and i see a smile forming on his face. "What do you want to do today?" I ask. "Anything you'd like, I'm free till 5." He tells me. Honestly, i was going to just go to the library and do my work, but that can wait. I can't miss an opportunity to hang out with Shawn.

Before i could give him an answer, my phone rings and I'm getting a call from my dad. "Sorry i got to answer this." I say before picking up the call. "Hey dad." I respond. "Hello pumpkin, what are you doing next week?" He asks. "I'm not sure, why?" "I was hoping you could come visit me? I really miss you pumpkin." "Of course dad, I'll come." I tell him. "Can't wait." We both say our goodbyes into the phone before hanging up and Shawn smirks.

"Is that your dad?" He asks. "Nope, just someone i call dad." I joke and he laughs. "Ha ha, very funny. So you're going back to Pickering?" "Yeah, next week." "Can i come along?" He asks and i shoot him daggers. "No way, that would be awkward as hell." I say, thinking about how I've never brought a friend home and it'll be weird that the first person i bring home is a famous guy who also happens to be my roommate's brother. "It'll be fun, I'm good with parents i promise." He tries to convince me. "I'll think about it." I say as i get up, hoping to escape saying yes. "Okay, what do you want to do today then?" He asks while sitting up and stretching. "Maybe we could go sightseeing? I still haven't visited many of the places." I suggest. "Ooh, be your personal tour guide? Sure." He says and i laugh at how excited he is.

I grab my toiletries and tell him, "I'm going to take a shower." "Cool, I'll just wait here." He says and i leave. I take a relatively quick shower because I didn't want Shawn to wait for long and then it hit me. I usually change clothes in my room and Shawn's waiting for me there, I can't just show up in a towel. I grab my dirty clothes and head to my room. I knock on the door and yell, "Shawn if you still want to be friends with me, close your eyes." I look like a crazy girl in the hallway, just in a towel and yelling into my room but I didn't care, i didn't want him to see me like this. "They're closed." Shawn replies and i open the door but i peak into the room and see that Shawn's covering his eyes with his hands. I enter with a sigh of relief and change into a pair of blue jeans and a white tank top.

"Okay, you can open them now." I say as i dry off my hair. "You look beautiful." He compliments me and i feel my heart beating out of my chest. "You already said that." "I know, I just want to say it again." He blushes. I put on a little bit of makeup and wore my nike air forces. We both head down to the parking lot and to his car. And without fail, Shawn opens the door for me. "I will never get used to this but thank you Shawn." I say before he closes the door and jogs over to the other side. "It's my pleasure Elle." He says as he starts the car.

We drive off to the city and Shawn says, "I want to go home and change into something else first, is that okay?" I nod in responds and he smiles. We talk about how much Shawn misses Aaliyah and how it would've be nice if she had tagged along. Shawn pulls up to his apartment's parking lot and we both head up to his room. Shawn quickly changes in his room and i stayed in the living room, admiring the decorations he has. I saw a photo frame of his family and it made me smile because of how close he is to them. My dad is also the most important person to me, considering he's the only family I've got. Shawn comes out of the room dressed in black jeans and a grey top. "Ready?" He asks and I immediately put down the photo frame and turn to face him. "Yeah." I answer and we both head out yet again.

Our first stop was iHop since we were both hungry and haven't had anything to eat. We ate pancakes and this time i paid secretly before Shawn could because i know he would insist to pay and i would give in. We then went over to the Roger's Center where Shawn had held concerts in the past and also to the National Park because he says that it's his favourite place to come and get fresh air. We took a few photos and selfies here and there and the hair on my arm always stood whenever he wrapped his arm around my waist. Am I falling for him? It's probably because he's a celebrity, i convince myself as we're on the way to the last location which is the CN Tower, the highest viewing area of the city.

We pull up to the CN Tower and head up to the highest floor. My ears start popping because of the altitude but i swallow my saliva so it goes away. We step out of the lift and I'm in awe at the view. I stand close to the edge and everything seems so small like ants. I take my phone out and snap some photos of the city skyline. "This would be better at night." Shawn says. "I can only imagine." I smile thinking about the city lights. "We should come here next time when it's dark." He suggests and i nod in agreement.

We sit down at the bench at the viewing deck, taking in everything in front of us. "Elle, i have something to tell you." Shawn says and i turn to face him. "Yeah?" I respond and for some reason my palms start sweating profusely. "I like you." He says while staring into my eyes. There's a moment of silence before he speaks again, "more than a friend". I'm in shock. What i heard last night wasn't a dream after all? "I-i" I stutter. "I like you too." I admit and it feels like a weight has been lifted off my chest. Shawn grins widely before engulfing me into a hug. At the beginning of today, I didn't even know how i felt about him. But after spending time with him today, i knew that deep down in my heart i felt something for him.

After a few minutes, we pull out from the hug and i feel heat rushing to my cheeks as i finally notice people staring at us. Shawn looks at his watch and exclaims, "Shit, we got to go Elle." He stands up and so do I. He intertwines our hands and drags me to the lift and into the car. Shawn drives off toward Hillman College as i replay what had just happen. Everything moved so fast but i couldn't be more sure about my feelings towards him. I like Shawn and he likes me.
