Eleanor.
Shawn opens up his gift and his face lights up immediately. "This is amazing Elle." He compliments and i shrug as if it wasn't a big deal, but it was. I've been saving money for this denim jacket for him ever since i saw him eyeing it on one of our dates. It wasn't as expensive as i thought it was but still slightly out of my budget. "I'm glad you like it." I shoot him a smile. "Like it? I love it!" He exclaims and hugs me. "I got something for you too." My dad cuts in and we pull away, passing Shawn a mini bag. "Shoot, your gifts are still at my house." He groans. "No worries, you can give it to us later." My dad reassures. Shawn opens up the bag to find a book titled 'How to be the best boyfriend'. "Dad!" I chuckle at how ridiculous the gift is. "Hey, it'll come into good use, you'll thank me later pumpkin." My dad says in a serious tone. "Thank you Adam, i'll read it and be the best boyfriend for your daughter." Shawn nods firmly. "That's my boy." My dad pats Shawn's shoulder.
"Can you drive me back home?" Shawn asks and I stand up immediately. I grab my sweater off the hanger and car keys before opening the door and hopping into the car. "Thanks baby." He says after buckling his seat belt. "What's your plan for the day?" I ask, reversing out of the garage. "Spend time with my family, I've really missed my parents. You?" He tells me. "Spend time with my dad, and figure out a way to earn money." I answer. "Maybe you could get a part time job?" He suggest and my brain clicks. "Oh my god babe, you're a genius." I say and give him a quick kiss while we're on the red light. "I saw a hiring sign at the cafe in school, it's the perfect place for me to study and work." I smile, thinking about the perfect solution to solve my problem. "I'm glad i could help." Shawn grabs my hand but i swat it away. "I'm driving!" I yell and we both burst out laughing.
We arrive at his house and i park in their driveway. We walk up to his house hand in hand and he swings open the door. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" He shouts as he leads me to the living room. His mom rushes down and shrieks in excitement at the sight of us. She greets and hugs the both of us before going back to her room.
"For my special lady." He courtesy and passes me a small jewelry box. "Is this for me?" I ask. "Yep." He replies, popping the p sound. I slowly open the jewelry box which revealed a shiny silver necklace with the charm of a coffee mug bedazzled with jewels. "Awe, it's beautiful." I admire the necklace and take it off from the box. I move my hair to the side while Shawn helps me to put the necklace on, giving me goosebumps as soon as his skin touches mine. "It's perfect." Shawn grins after putting it on. "Why the coffee mug?" I ask, curious why he choose this charm out of thousands. "Well, we technically first met at Tim Hortons here and then again at the school's cafe so i thought it'll only make sense if i got you this charm, which kinda represents the beginning of our relationship." He explains. "It's beautiful." I say in awe.
"This is for your dad, can you pass it to him for me? Oh and record his reaction!" Shawn instructs me. "I will." I nod, taking the present. We say out goodbyes for now and i head back into my car to drive home. I can't wait to get home and tell my dad about I'm going to work part time to solve our money problem. I think it's time my dad takes a well-deserved break while i try to support to both of us. I'm very grateful at how he's been my pillar support for all these years that i think it's time that i do the same for him.
Shawn.
As i spent the day with my family, I couldn't help but to glance at the photo i took of Eleanor standing in front of the tree once in awhile. How can a girl who's been misunderstood still be so positive about life? I honestly admire her so much and I'm glad that I'm able to call her mine. I remember on our second date when we went to the art exhibition, i promised to be the shadow pulling her out from the dark and i believe that I've kept my promise. I can see how much we both grown since we first met each other but our love for each other doesn't change. She used to be so afraid of opening up to people but I can tell that she's completely herself around me and I'm so happy to see that.
"What are you looking at with those eyes?" Aaliyah asks and snatches my phone away from me. "Hey! Give that back!" I yell but she's already running away with my phone in her hand. "Ooh, Elle looks good here. You should post it!" Aaliyah suggests. Maybe I should post it on Instagram, her face can't be seen anyways and my fans already know i have a girlfriend. My publicist would probably kill me for doing this without telling her but I couldn't care less.
Aaliyah tosses my phone over and stares me down. "Are you going to post it?" She crosses her arms. "I'm thinking about it." I tell her but in my mind I'm already posting it. "Do it!" She exclaims and tries to take my phone away from me again. "Okay, okay, I'll post it." I say in defeat. I open Instagram and quickly type in a caption before pressing post. Even though I'm nervous as heck because this is literally the first time I'm posting on social media about my girlfriend, there's a part of me that is proud of finally being able to show my girlfriend off to the whole world.
