Eleanor.
As I was cleaning up the counters, the bell on the door rang, indicating a customer has arrived. I quickly wash my hand and get ready to take their order. "One iced americano please." The guy says and I repeat his order. I look up to him after saying his total and realised it was Shawn staring at me with his black hoodie on. "Shawn!" I exclaim and immediately pull him in for a hug over the counter. "Seems like someone finally knows who i am." Shawn chuckles. "What do you mean?" I ask as we pull away. "Don't you remember? When we first met at Tim Hortons and you didn't know me?" Shawn says and my brain finally clicks. "Of course, I remember that. I searched you up as soon as my shift ended." I admit. "Oh did you?" He smirks at me and I roll my eyes.
Shawn pays for his drink and I start making it. It's crazy to think how much things have changed within this year and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm glad that Shawn and I's relationship turned out okay and the fans were actually happy to see him finally happy. And I'm thankful that this job has allowed my dad to take a much needed break and help us afford my college tuition.
After I was done making the drink, I walked towards Shawn and notice him carrying a large wrapped up frame. "What's that?" I ask, pointing at the frame. "It's a gift for you." He smiles at me. "Is there a special occasion?" I ask, setting his drink down. "There isn't. I just wanted to give this to you." He hands me the frame and I take it. "Should I open it now?" I try to peek and see what it is. "Yes, open it!" Shawn cheers and I slowly start to tear the wrapping paper.
My heart stops as I recognise this painting. "How?" I say, a million questions running through my mind. "Well, after seeing how much you liked it at the art gallery, I just knew I had to get it for you." Shawn answers. I trace the painting of the broken girl and fight my tears from falling. "Thank you Shawn." I place the frame down and hug him. Shawn embraces me fully and I finally let a few tears fall. "I knew you'd like it." He whispers, stroking my hair gently. I quickly pull away before I cry even harder and give him a quick smile. "I think i need to get back to work." I say to avoid the stares from other customers and he nods.
I take the frame to the back and stare at it a little while more. Although I'm not that girl anymore, I still remember how it felt like to be her. It was a painful experience but it made me stronger. And its nice to see how Shawn kept his promise of being the one to pull me out of the darkness and I'll be eternally grateful to him. Shawn loves me and I love him, what more could i ask for?
The End.
