Chapter Six

Dev's POV :

I can never forgive myself. I don't know how to react at this point of my life. Why lord? Why? Why did this happen?
I cursed every minute of me trusting that girl.

Only if I had not gone to her. Only if I had used my brains. God! Ugh...

It is late night and I am on my way home. Again I have to go and hurt her. I'm just not able to do this anymore. But, if I don't then, Neha will go and tell Aisha everything.

I can't let her come to know the truth, she will break down. Anyways, I'm hurting her by behaving rudely with her.

Thinking thinking... I reached home. The house is silent.
It's not like usual. Where are everyone? I thought going straight up to my room.

As I opened the door I can see my beautiful wife sleeping quietly. How I so wish to go hug her, kiss her, hold her tightly and so many more things. But, I can't.

I walked passed her softly into the bathroom to freshen up. After changing and coming out I found her awake and reading some book.

"When did you come?"
She asks while I take my laptop out of my bag as I needed to finish some work.

"Just a few minutes ago!"
I said lamely.

"Tomorrow is Gurav's birthday so the kids have gone to Raj's house they will stay there tonight" She says keeping back the book on the night stand.

"Hmm.. I responded, and sat on the sofa with my work.

After a few minutes of silence. She asks in a little sad voice.
"You didn't call me the whole day?"

"I was busy, I didn't have time for unnecessary calls"
I say as rude as possible.

My heart is paining every second as I'm hurting her heart. But I'm so helpless. I know she's already in pain and me behaving like this is giving her more pain.

After few more seconds of silence...
"Today Preeti called me in the morning" She says like it is more of a question to me.

But I can hear the fear in her voice. I look up from my laptop to see that she is standing infont of me by now.

"What did she say?"
I asked a little faster.

I almost guessed what Preeti must have told her. I thought she believed my lies but, I guess she didn't. Rajeev trusts me completely and Preeti is not, it's very shocking I know.

That day I went to meet Neha in the cafe, while I bumped into an old friend. She was actually flirting with me and I did try to avoid her at first. Suddenly, Neha called me and said I must respond to her flirting as she can see me from far. I couldn't understand why?

Then soon my eyes noticed Preeti from the conner. I understood Neha's plans, I got angry. But I couldn't do anything about it. I just did as she told me too. And when Preeti called me, I lied saying I'm at an important meeting.

"That means you know what she might have told me?"
She asked again sarcastically.

"If I knew then why would I ask you? if it's important then tell me or I have work to do"
I stated normally looking back into my laptop.

"She saw you with someone and when she called you, You said that your in a meeting"
She says softly looking at me.

I know she is nervous and thinking a lot. Her voice tells me everything. I stand keeping my laptop down and hold her arm roughly, looking straight into her eyes with anger.
I say... "I will go anywhere I want! and will be with anyone I wish. Next time if you ask me any questions, then I won't know what I will do to you...clear? So, don't you dare to question me again got it!"
