Chapter Seventeen

Dev's POV :

"Don't give him false hope Dev" She yelled loudly in anger and stood up.

What's wrong with her? What is she saying? I thought and got up holding Deshan's hand.

"What happened?"
I ask her confusingly not knowing why is she angry.

"Please stop acting"
She says twitching her lip.

"Can you please be clear?"
I ask again not knowing what is running in her mind.

"Just tell him the truth that even his parents are not going to be together for long"
She says in anger and pain.

"What?"
"What?"
Both me and Deshan screamed.

I look down at him and he looks up to me, both of us are shocked at hearing her.

"Yes Deshan your father and I are not going to be together, maybe some day you will also have to choose any of us" She looks at Deshan saying sadly.

He looks at me for confirmation. I give him a blank look. I myself don't know what to tell him. This lady has gone insane.

"Aisha we will talk later, can you please stop it now"
I tell her controlling my anger which is at the peak.

"Why should I stop? Let him also know, his father has no more interest in his mother"
She again spoke with now tears rolling down her face.

What is she thinking? I thought in my mind am I'm so angry.

"When the hell did I say something like to you?"
I ask her taking a step closer. 

I'm fuming in anger now. She has gone mad. What is she thinking and saying?
My mind is paining now.

"You don't need to tell me!
I can see it"
She says stright into my eyes.

"What has gone into you?"
I ask her in disbelief.

She just huffed and turned her face crossing her arms against her chest.

"Deshan don't listen to her, she is just talking nonsense"
I look down at him and he is so confused and scared.

I don't want him to think things that are unnecessary. He's already upset about something, he'll get sick. I think to myself.

"Deshan, you listen to me, be ready I'm telling you the truth your father is lying, he is just...

"Aisha enough!" I cut her off screaming and raised my hand in front of her face.

Both she and Deshan flinched at my reaction. She looked at me in disbelief, I took back my hand down. Thank God I didn't do anything that I would regret later.

"What's happening here?" Came in asking Rahul and Riya.

They stand near the door and look at us strangely, the room became silent for  a second.

Deshan goes running to Riya and hugs her, she picked him up and went out. Rahul came inside.

"What's wrong with you both? He was already crying and you fought in front of him?"
He asks us in irritation.

We stood still and quite.

"I never expected this from you both. This is the first time you guys have done something like this" He says looking at us for an explanation.

"We are sorry...You just handle your brother. I need to handle your mother first" I say and drag her out.

"Dev leave my hand! You're hurting me"
She says but, I cared less.
