Chapter Eleven

Dev's POV :

By the sunlight hitting my face through the window blinking my eyes I opened them slowly to see my wife is sitting beside me holding my hand and asleep. I looked at her smiling.

The time that man aimed the gun at her, I got scared. I didn't know what to do. When he asked her the last time and she denied him. He pulled the trigger and shot at her.
I don't know how my legs travelled on their own and stood in front of her.

She's my life, I will nevre let anything happen to her. I will do anything to save her and protect her from anyone or anything in this world.

"When did you wake up?"
She asks me in shock getting up slowly.

"Just a minute ago" I say still smiling at her.

"Why didn't you wake me up? Are you fine? Is it panning anywhere?" She's asking me questions on questions.

I just laughed and she stopped.

"Why are you laughing? I'm asking you worriedly and your laughing" She ask in disbelief.

"No I didn't mean that.. I just...

I couldn't complete my sentence as the door opened and entered in all our family members.

"Dada!" Riya came and hugged me but, slowly and sniffing.

"Princess! I'm fine, Please stop crying. You know I hate to see you cry" I say lovingly to her rubbing her back.

"I call you my superhero but, that doesn't mean you would act like a real one"
She scolds me so sweetly that we all laugh.

"Please don't do such stunts next time"
She says with teary eyes.

I nooded my head slowly. I don't know whether she knows what happened or not.

"Kids come let's go home. You guys have not had anything past night, get some sleep and come back later" Says Ishan to both Riya and Rahul.

"You two are unbelievable. Please go home and don't worry about me I'm good now. I'll come back soon I promise"
I told both of them.

Rahul didn't speak anything and left quitely. Riya hugged me again and they went away with Ishan.

I sat up straight resting my back on the bed. Preeti came and sat beside me.

"I'm sorry Dev" She says holding my hand and a little drop of tear left her eye.

"Hey! Pretty Preeti everything is fine now. It was just a  misunderstanding and you were worried for your sister, you have all the rights to be...
I know how much you care and love her"
I tell her lovingly and she hugs me.

"I told both these women. But, they didn't believe me at all. I knew my friend can't do anything like that and hurt my cupcake"
Says Rajeev with all smiles.

I smiled back at him for trusting me more than anyone did. He truly became my life saver. I sometimes think he does things for me more than he does for Aisha. I'm lucky to have him as my best friend too.

"Yeah he is the only one who didn't believe anything against you" Preeti says with a small smile.

"I got to go to the police station, See you at home buddy" Raj said hugging me and left.

Both Aisha and Preeti helped me clean up. And the doctor said I can leave by evening as I'm fit to go. I just need bed rest for a week. Preeti drove us home in the evening. Raj phoned and told us that Neha and Ravi are arrested by the police and will never disturb us ever again.
