KSDHHSS I FORGOT TO UPDATE YESTERDAY SORRY BESTIES anyway, how was your week besties?

- - -

It had been a few days since her parents had found out about her secret - and yet, dinner was still unsually quiet. Y/n still refused to talk with her parents, only answering with one word answers if asked a question. It was quite unsual, too, that they've been home for so long. Normally, they would've been somewhere around the world and she would be living off of cup noodles.

She wished that were the case.

''Thanks for the dinner,'' Y/n mumbled as she put her chopsticks on top of her plate. Pushing her chair out, she stood up and walked away. Her parents didn't stop her.

Once back in her room, she laid on her back, staring at the ceiling, simply thinking, as she had been for the past few days. How long was this going to go on for? Will she get her freedom anytime soon? How will she get another skateboard now?

Today was the day she was supposed to beef with Adam, too, had her parents not found out, but Mystique was over, after all.

She heard commotion in the hallway and stood up, deciding to check out what was happening, as there was nothing better to do anyway. Creaking the door open and taking a look outside, her eyes fell on a familiar figure - a figure she was very relieved to see.

''Hiro, dear, how nice of you to visit!'' her mother exclaimed as she embraced her son, who laughed as he returned the hug.

''Yeah, I had some time off schoolwork, so I decided to come for the weekend,'' Hiro said, then greeted his dad, too. ''Hi, Dad. Where's Y/n?''

Just as he said that, his eyes fell on his younger sister and a grin broke onto his face. Y/n approached her brother and embraced him, too, glad to be able to interact with anyone besides her parents.

''What's up?'' Hiro asked as he noticed her somber expression when she let go of him.

Y/n shook her head. She wasn't sure if Hiro knew about what had happened, as she couldn't call him, but she didn't want to mention it in front of her parents. ''Nothing, really. I've just been really bored.''

Hiro nodded, a knowing smile on his lips. ''Ah, that's great then, since I have . . .'' he reached inside his pocket and took out two slips of paper. ''Two tickets to this one movie that's airing tonight and I wanted to watch, so, you wanna come with me?''

Y/n looked at her parents, who gave each other looks before shrugging. ''Fine, as long as you're with your brother.''

Hiro grinned at their parents' approval and grabbed the duffle bag he's put on the ground, then followed Y/n towards their rooms - they were opposite of each other - whilst their parents made their way to the living room.

''Hey,'' Hiro whispered as he tapped Y/n's shoulder, causing her to look up at him in confusion. ''Bring your 'S' jacket, it's nice.''

Furrowing her eyebrows, Y/n watched him as he grinned at her and walked into his room. She entered her own room, her eyes falling on the jacket that was hanging on her chair, her mind clicking.

Could he possibly . . .?

She bent down under her bed, bringing out a box - the box where her skateboard used to be - and opened it, bringing out her mask and pushing it back under.

''We'll be going now, then!'' Hiro exclaimed with a grin on his face.

''Bye, have fun!'' their mother exclaimed with a small smile on her face before turning back towards the TV.

Hiro stuffed his hands in his jacket pockets and walked ahead, a small smile on his face, which confused Y/n even more. What was he so cheerful about?

''Say, Y/n,'' Hiro spoke once they were further from the house, stopping in the middle of the street to turn and look at her, his grin remaining. ''You were supposed to beef with Adam today, am I correct?''

Y/n's eyes widened. ''How do you know about that?''

''A birdie told me,'' Hiro chuckled. ''One of your dearest friends contacted me for help and how could I say no to help my dear little sister.''

Just as he'd said that, the silent hum of an engine approaching could be heard. Y/n turned around, noticing two motorbikes approaching, their lights pointing straight at her and Hiro. She put her hand in front of her face and squinted her eyes, trying to make out if it was someone she knew.

The two motorbikes stopped next to her and Hiro, and she blinked a few times, trying to get her eyes to adjust to the change of light. She rubbed her eyes and fluttered them open, only to be met with a very familiar grin - a grin she didn't expect to see tonight.

''Reki?'' Y/n asked as she looked at him, then behind him. ''Joe? What're you guys doing here?''

''We're sneaking you into 'S','' Reki exclaimed. ''That is, if you want to go against Adam. We aren't forcing you, but if you want to . . .''

She stood there for a second, looking between Reki, Joe and her brother. Did she want to go skate? Of course she did. If her parents found out, though, they would be livid . . .

''I don't have a board, though,'' Y/n pointed out, remembering how her father smashed her old and beat up board.

Reki chuckled. ''That's not a problem at all.'' Y/n watched in surprise as Reki opened a bag he'd put on top of the motorcycle he'd been riding - the DOPE SKETCH one - and pulled out a board, then handed it to her. ''Special delivery for a special customer.'' Reki said as he bowed down and held out the board as if he were a knight handing her a sword.

In a sense, he was her knight at that moment.

Y/n took the board from his hands in wonder, her eyes boring the new grip-tape that's been freshly put on the board. She flipped it and her breath hitched. Her hand ran over the beautifully drawn raven drawn on the board - the same raven she'd mentioned she liked when she saw Reki's drawings for the first time. It was obvious he'd spent much time drawing it, considering how precise and detailed it was drawn. The main color was a deep purple - was that why he'd asked her what her favorite color was? - and the wheels were a slightly lighter shade than the board.

It was perfect.

''Hey, Y/n, why're you crying?''

She hadn't realized a tear had escaped her eye and rolled down her cheek. Quickly wiping it off, she glared at her brother, who had laughed at her. ''I'm fine, it's just really nice,'' Y/n said as she looked back up at Reki, a smile on her face. ''Thank you so much, Reki. That's the best gift I've ever received.''

''Hey, you said that about your first board when I gave it to you,'' Hiro interjected, causing both Reki and Y/n to look at him, the latter rather more annoyed than the former. ''I ruined the moment, didn't I?''

''Kaoru just texted, apparently Adam is there and waiting,'' Joe spoke after checking his phone. ''We should probably hurry up.''

The four quickly climbed up on the two motorbikes, Y/n wrapping her arms tightly around Reki's waist after strapping her board to the side of the motorcycle, much like Reki's was on the other side.

Reki looked back at her just before they took off. ''You ready to kick Adam's ass?''

It took a second, but a smile broke on her lips. ''Yeah, I am.''
