Taking The World By Storm

Chapter 6

Jason

Jason couldn't stop thinking about Piper all day. He hated seeing her miserable. He just wanted to be home to take care of his wife. I know its the twenty first century and woman are better than men at science, medicine and everything else but I was raised in a way that you marry the girl and you protect the girl.

He was able to get off of work early but only by 45 minutes. When he got home, Piper was sitting on the couch watching T.V.

"Hey Pipes, how are you feeling?" he asked as he set his gear down in the front room.

"I'm fine now, just needed some rest" she said softly. Jason came over and sat down next to Piper, putting his arm around his wife and kissing her cheek. "Thats good" he said.

Piper sighed and Jason knew something was still wrong. "Jason" said Piper. Her voice was quiet, she was scared.

"Piper, whats wrong? Did Annabeth come over like I asked her too?" he said getting more and more worried.

"I need to tell you something and I don't know if you're going to like it or not" she said taking Jason's hand.

He turned to face Piper. He searched her eyes for any sign of anything. "Whats going on?" he urged.

"Jason, I'm pregnant"

The whole world stopped. The words replayed in his mind over and over again. So many emotions flooded his mind. He was scared, happy, confused and overjoyed all at the same time. Everything was moving in slow motion. He needed to think about this but he knew Piper was waiting for a response. He could see it in her eyes, she was terrified but the truth is, so was he. Scenario after scenario played over in his mind.

But the, with all the things running through his mind, he smiled. "Piper" he whispered, his smile only growing.

Piper smiled back at him. "We're having a baby" said Jason squeezing Piper's hand. "We're having a baby" repeated Piper.

Jason pulled Piper into a bear hug and kissed her head over and over again. "I love you so much" whispered Piper. "I love you too" muttered Jason through his laughter.

Eventually, Jason put down Piper and said "How did you think I wouldn't love this?" he said softly. Piper looked down at the ground. "Last night, you said-" "I said what I thought you wanted to hear" Jason said as he put a finger to her chin, lifting her head up.

Piper's smiled returned. "Thank gods" she whispered. "So you arn't scared?" she asked. Jason scoffed. "Hell no, I am terrified. But I know that we are going to be fine" he said.

***Really short chapter, I know don't hate me. I do on the other hand have some ideas of whats going to happen later thanks to BridgetMooney, who commented on my previous chapter.
