Chapter 10

I was off the crutches, Piper is now 6 months pregnant, I was going back to work, everything was going great.

Piper was still asleep when I woke up. I crawled out of bed and got dressed in my gear. I was so ready to get back to work. Before I left, I ran to the bedroom where Piper was sitting on the bed, slowly waking up.

"Hey baby, I'm going to work. I'll see you later" I said as I kissed her cheek. I then, ran to the car and drove to work.

When I got to work, it was unusually cold outside. It was winter but at camp, they could keep the weather at a constant temperature and they didn't have to worry about rain either. Since it was winter, the camp was slow, only the year-round kids were here so there was less classes.

I went straight to the Big House because today there would be a breifing on what was going on at the Camp on the West Coast.

In the meeting room, Percy, Annabeth (who recently got a job here as designer, she would be going over to the West Coast for just a few days at a time to help with construction along with Leo and more in the Hephaestus kids), Leo, Nico, Rachel, and Chiron.

"Thank you all for coming, in a moment, Reyna will Iris message us and we will have contact with the group" said Chiron from his wheelchair. Everyone nodded and sat in silence until a cloud of mist bagan to form in the air.

"Hey guys!" said Hazel. I looked over at Nico who was obviously trying not to smile. Everyone said their various forms of hello. "Where is Reyna?" asked Chiron. Hazel's face dropped. "She isn't really available right now" she said awkwardly. I could see the fear in Hazel's eyes, something was definitely up.

"Where is she?" I asked, fearing the worst. "Listen, the monster attacks are getting worse over here. It may be just because they monsters now know we are here but I think you guys should be on the look out, has any monster gotten close to your borders lately?" asked Hazel.

"A minotar, it attacked Piper and I just a few miles away from the city" I said. Hazel pursed her lips. Chiron cleared his throat. "These could just be a coinincidence. We don't know anything for sure. I'll send over a few extra soldiers. Have you found any demigods that are in need of help?"

"Yeah, 3. A daughter of Apollo, and twins, both sons of Athena" she said, her expression loosening. "Alright, just hang on until we send over some reenforcements" said Annabeth. Hazel nodded before she turned around.

"I have to go, I'll take with you as soon as I can" said Hazel then the message disappeared.

Chiron sighed, something more was going on and he knew it. Just then a kid ran into the room. "Chris?" said Chiron, confused. I looked over at the kid. This must be who Piper was talking about.

"There was an attack to the east of the city. At least 4 monsters tried to penetrate the forcefield. Soldiers were able to get it under control and the monsters were killed but a fire broke out" said Chris.

Chiron nodded then looked at Percy. "Go help with the fire" he said before he turned to Chris. "Come with me, now" said Chiron. He did not sound happy.

They went into the other room and I hear yelling. Everyone else was in their seats, waiting for Chiron to come back but I couldn't take it. Something was up. I went down the hall and listened in on their conversation.

"This is getting out of hand Chris, we have to tell them now" said Chiron.

"No, I need more time. None of you know about the uprising yet. You aren't even supposed to know" growled Chris.
