Aiden POV

As I was at practice I thought about everything I found out about Dutchess. I was in my zone and didn't hear the coach blow the whistle to end practice.

"AD what on your mind son," he said patting my shoulder

"Dutchess may be pregnant, my sister took her to the doctor to find out." I stopped

"What else, you went too hard today for that to be all."

"It's so much I don't even know where to start. I just know I gotta work twice as hard to make sure I take care of that child."

"That child" He looked at me

"I don't know if the baby is mine but I still wanna be there for it. I found out a lot of fucked up things about Dutchess family and she been going through it and fronting like her life is so perfect." I said

"She told you." He asked

"After going to her mother's house and I guess dude was her pimp said something. I could've helped her out of that situation and she didn't trust me, Coach, as if I was with her just to fuck. That shit hurts, and I'm not pose to feel some type of way towards her." I vented "I kinda talked with my sister but she on Ducthess' side."

"Kaylynn came back around?" Coach asked

"You know my sister."

"Know her, I chased your sister from 4th grade till she left. She left me a note once saying she was flattered but she could never be with a man after meeting Joey." he stopped "At the time I didn't understand but later on my aunt told me Joey was raping her."

"Well now she with her baby father Killa, they have a 2-year-old together. She owns a couple of nail and hair salons throughout the south."

"She did well for a young woman who had to raise herself."

"She didn't raise herself, she moved with our father who made her get her GED and take up as many trades as possible." I corrected

"Sorry that's what I was told, she took what little money your dead father left her and got her own grind," he said

"Well no our father isn't dead and she did grind her way from the bottom. Hell if it wasn't for Killa she would've been taking care of me, I'm just glad she came back now I have to get her and my mother on good terms."

"You can't do that only they can. Now shower and get ready for class I'll write you a pass." he patted "And on a better note you have four scouts coming to see you next game I want you to start slow so you can pace yourself. 3 scouts are from HBCUs and they give scholarships to young parents like you and Dutchess but they may ask for some background on her." He walked into his office

"Gotcha coach thanks," I said walking to the shower

As I was heading to my first period the bell rung letting class out. I walked in and asked for my missed classwork giving her the pass from Coach

"Aiden attendance is a part of your grade. If you didn't turn in straight A work you would be in trouble." Ms. Pinkey said

"Sorry Ms. P this morning I had a meeting with a scout over the phone." I smiled

"Well we all know you gonna make it big especially with your stepfather guidance," she said  before letting me go to my next class which was across the hall

The end of the day came around, and I was heading to practice. Dutchess hasn't text me all day about the appointment. I called her phone and heard it ringing behind me

"We're here A1, and we got great news." Kaylynn cheesed as Dutchess pulled something from her back pocket.
