You were already seated down near the far end of the room, just a row before the last row in the classroom. You were already settled down as you fiddled with your phone, having no one to talk to since none of your group of friends were in the same class. You entered the classroom earlier than usual today, barely anyone inside except for a few people you didn't really know.

All of a sudden, crowds of people started to enter the room slowly since lunch break was nearing its end. You suddenly hear Soon-young's lively voice as he chats along with his friends, recognizing him right away as you turn in his direction. It was indeed Soon-young with his group of friends, including Wonwoo. As soon as you saw Wonwoo's tall figure behind Soon-young, you look away and turn back to your phone, remembering what you felt just minutes ago.

You shrug off the memory as you let out a frustrated sigh, resting your elbow on the desk as you rest your forehead against your fist. Were you really trying so hard, Y/N? Was it wrong for wanting to get to know someone more?

Maybe he didn't really like you from the start. Was it because I held a bad reputation because of Jung? You thought to yourself as you glance up, seeing Soon-young and his peers walking a few rows in front of you, taking their seats. Your eyes unconsciously glance towards Wonwoo... who was already glancing towards you. You feel your heart skip a beat as both of you lock gazes, immediately looking down at your phone as you try to make it less awkward.

God, why did I have to make eye contact with him, out of all the people?

Luckily, the professor walked into the room which diverted your attention, putting your mind off the awkward situation that just happened.

--

"Did everyone understand the concept?" The professor asks the class as he closes the cap of his whiteboard marker, finishing a pile of solutions for the math question that he explained. It was a pain in the ass; you weren't really the best when it comes to numbers, but you do just about average when it comes to Mathematics. The whole class mutters and nods in unison, even if it was obvious that it was strenuous to the mind, having others still lagging as they tried to comprehend the lesson.

You scratched your head as you tried to finish writing the equation in your notebook, resting your chin on top of your palm as you do.

"Alright," The professor clears his throat. "Now, I'll be discussing the mechanics of the first project for the semester." He says as you lift your head, pursing your lips together with a sigh; everyone couldn't believe that there was already a requirement to be done— the semester just started; college was literally hell. "It'll be a pair work."

You bite your lip as you hear what he said— no one from your group of friends was in the same math class. You looked around the room, seeing everyone talking to their seatmate or looking at their friends and exchanging glances, already deciding that they would pair up. Well, I don't think I'll have a hard time looking for a pair, you thought to yourself. You were pretty sure it won't be that bad.

"And I've already picked out your partners randomly, so no buts." The professor added as the whole room reacted softly, some were groaning since they missed the chance to pair up with their friends. You somehow sighed in relief; thinking that at least you won't have a hard time looking for someone who didn't have a pair yet. The professor started to dictate who the pairs were, gradually going down his list.

"Next," He looks at the list as he reads, "Y/N," You look up as you paid attention, wanting to know who your partner was. You didn't know everyone in the class, so you wanted to know who it was clearly.

"You'll be partners with Jeon Wonwoo."

Your eyes widen as you hear his name, swearing under your breath as you try to snap out of your thoughts. No, I must've heard him wrong.
