Chapter eight: Ballonlea

Hey guys welcome back to the story. I'm sorry for the late delays my family surprised me this past weekend and I was unable to post them, but I'm back for this weeks story and I hope you guys are enjoying this story and let me know what you think. So let's get on with it.

The next morning came and the five cleaned up camp before heading to Ballonlea. They made their way to the next town getting through wild Pokemon and trainers that came in their way. There were only four Gyms left before the finals. The journey had become tougher for them with every trainer and Gym Leader, however each of them had gotten stronger with each battle. Each of their Pokemon had gotten stronger since their last battle at Stow-On-Side Gym. Opal, the Fairy Gym Leader, was next for them to challenge. She is the oldest Galar Gym Leader and her Fairy Pokemon are extremely strong, but that only fuels the five of them with a challenge.
"Alright Ballonlea should be in the next mile or so from here." Hop said.
"Finally I feel like we have been walking for hours now." Gloria said.
"Well before we arrive we should plan out a strategy against Opal, she is tough to beat and she also asks questions while we battle so we must answer correctly." Bede said.
"Good plan, so let's think of battle strategies. What do each of us have?" Victor asked.
"Well I know you and me have Corvinknight which has steel moves, other than that I'm not sure what I could used." Hop said.
"Well for sure use the Corvinknight, because of its steel typing." Victor said.
"I have Liepard, Toxicroak, Scrafty, and Morpeko as usual." Marnie said.
"I would have to say use Toxicroak, but we have to be careful, because it is part fighting, but we have to use poison moves on Opal's Pokemon." Victor said.
"I currently have a Reuniclus, Gothitelle, Galarian Rapidash, Gardevoir, and Hatterene." Bede said.
"Well, let's use Galarian Rapidash, so we have protection against Fairies." Victor said.
"What about you Victor, what are you gonna use?" Marnie asked.
"I was thinking about using my Toxtricity, because of its poison move." Victor said.
"Well if you guys have finished your battle plan, I made yall an easy lunch before your match." Gloria said, setting the table.
"Thanks Gloria you are awesome." Hop said.
"Thanks Hop." Gloria said, blushing a bit.
The five of them sat down eating a sausage curry that Gloria made for them.
"This is very good." Bede said.
"Yeah I know it is so delicious." Hop said.
"It was nothing really, it was just ingredients that I had in my bag." Gloria said.
"Whatever the case is it is still very good." Marnie said.
"For sure I love eating curry, it is just relaxing sometimes." Victor said, eating a spoonful of curry.
After they finished eating they cleaned up the area, and proceeded to Ballonlea and before they knew it they had arrived. The town was full of very bright mushrooms, just like the Glimwood Tangle. The five of them entered the Pokemon Center and they healed their Pokemon, while they went to the Poke Mart to get some healing items for their Pokemon. Once they finished at the Pokemon Center they made their way to the Ballonlea Gym and when they got there they were introduced to Opal, who was standing in the front of the Gym.
"Hello Gym Challengers, welcome to the Ballonlea Gym, I am Opal, the Fairy Gym Leader." Opal said looking at them.
She noticed Bede and went up to him very fast.
"You! Pink, Pink, Pink, Yes! Yes! You are a perfect candidate to be the next Gym Leader of Ballonlea." Opal said, shaking Bede.
"Someone please help me!" Bede said, trying to get away from Opal.
After Opal was done with Bede she went into the Gym.
"I hope you four are ready, because this is where the Gym Challenge gets tougher." Opal said walking back in.
"Well that was something." Gloria said.
"I am not sure what had just happened." Bede said, shaking from Opal.
"Well come on you guys let's go in and hope we can pull a win." Victor said.
"Yeah, Victor is right we made it this far, we can't give up now lets go." Hop said, running into the Gym.
They all entered the Gym and as always Gloria went into the stands, while the other four went to the locker room to change. Once they were ready they entered the trial room to begin the Gym Trial. The trial was more of a question game, with most of the question being Pokemon logic and basic knowledge of Pokemon. Each of them answered the questions they were given and some of them battled trainers to get to the next part. They successfully got through the trial and they made their way to the field. When they got there Opal met them at the entrance to the field.
"I am very impressed with your knowledge of Pokemon and I'm even more impressed with your team work, so I would like to do a two on one battle like the one you had in Stow-On-Side. Pair up with the same partner you had. I will be waiting for you on the field." Opal said, heading to the field.
The four got with their partner, Victor was with Marnie and Hop was with Bede. They went two at a time, Victor and Marnie were going first, while Hop and Bede stood on the sidelines. The two approached the field center and so did Opal.
"I am glad you two are partners, you two seem very close together." Opalsaid, while the two of them were hiding their blush.
"Th..anks you." Victor said.
"Now onto the battle show me what that teamwork of yours has in stores." Opal said walking to the end of the arena.
The two walked to their end and the battle began. Opal sent out her Galarian Weezing, while Marnie and Victor sent out their Morpeko and Corvinknight. The Galarian Weezing used a poison gas on the two Pokemon, however, the poison did not affect Corvinknight and Morpeko was able to evade it with it's speed. Morpeko used an electric move on the Weezing and then Corviknight used its Steel move to finish it quickly. Weezing fainted and Opal sent out her Mawile. Victor decided to switch his Corvinknight and sent out his Centiskorch. The Mawile used its Fairy moves on the Pokemon dealing a quarter of damage to Centiskorch, but half of Morpeko's health. Centiskorch used a Fire move on Mawile and it was super effective, Morpeko finished the Mawile with an Electric move. Mawile was defeated, but Opal sent out her Togekiss. Victor switched his Pokemon again to Toxtricity. Togekiss proved to be too much for Morpeko and it fainted. Marnie sent out her Liepard to help Victor's Toxtricity. Toxtricity used a Poison move on the Togekiss which did half of its health and it was now poisoned. Liepard used its Normal moves on the Togekiss taking its health to very low. The poison helped finish off the Togekiss and Opal sent out her final Pokemon, Alcreamie and she Gigantimax it. Victor Dynamax his Toxtricity and the three Pokemon battled. Alcreame used it's G-Max move on the two Pokemon, Lipard fainted from the attack, but Toxtricty was able to withstand the attack and used its Max Poison move on the Alcreamie poisoning it and doing half of its health. Marnie sent out her Toxicroak to help with Poison moves. The Alcreame used its G-Max move again and this time used a Fairy move on the Toxicroak. Toxicroak was able to hold off, but its health was very low. Toxtricty and Toxicroak finish off the Alcreamie with their Poison move and the Gigantimax Alcreamie bursts into flames. The two had beaten Opal and Marnie ran to Victor and leaped on him giving him a hug. The two pulled away from each other once they realized that everyone was looking at them for hugging.
"Congratulations, you two put on an amazing battle for us today, and you two are very cute together." Opal said, making the two blush hard.
"We did our best and we worked together to pull off a win." Victor said.
"Well you did great so I present to you both the Fairy Badge." Opal said, handing them the badge and her league card.
"Thank you so much Mrs. Opal." Marnie said.
"No need for formality, Opal is fine and please send in the other two for the battle." Opal said, healing her Pokemon.
Victor and Marnie headed to the sidelines where Hop and Bede were.
"You did great so I guess it's our turn to battle." Hop said.
Victor and Marnie nodded.
"Well wish us luck and two don't try any funny business while we are gone." Bede said, laughing while the two just looked at him.
Hop and Bede headed out to the field and met up with Opal at the field center.
"Hello younger brother of our Champion, I hope you're ready for this battle." Opal said.
"Yes I am Opal." Hop said passionately.
"And you boy wearing pink, show what you got." Opal said.
"Yes ma'am." Bede said.
The battle was rather short for Bede and Hop getting through each of Opal's Pokemon with no struggles. After the battle was over Opal approached the two at the field center.
"Congratulations you two did excellent together and I present to you two your badges." opal said, handing them their badges and her league card.
"Thank you Opal for the battle." Hop said.
"Of course and you Bede I hope you will consider taking over my Gym when I retire." Opal said.
"I will surely think about ma'am." Bede said.
"Alright now you four wait for me outside the Gym." Opal said, as she walked away.
The four of them changed in the locker room and headed out of the Gym where Gloria and Opal were waiting for them.
"Hey guys you did amazing out there." Gloria said, running up to them.
"Thanks Gloria it was tough, but we did it." Victor said.
"Now you four let's walk back to Hammerlocke since the way to the next Gym is through the east side of Hammerlocke." Opal said.
"Okay let's go." Hop said.
The six of them walked all the way to Hammerlocke from Ballonlea. The walk was a long way away, but in a short time they had reached Hammerlocke. Opal was talking to Bede about her Gym and what to do when she retires. They reached the center of Hammerlocke.
"Alright kids I have some things to do at Hammerlocke before I go back to Ballonlea and I suggest you get some winter clothes before you head to Circhester for your next match." Opal said.
"Thank you for guiding us Opal." Marnie said.
"It is my pleasure dear, now get going before night time falls." Opal said as she walked away.
"Well I guess we can go shopping at the clothes store for some winter clothes." Victor said.
"Yay! Shopping." Gloria said.
"Yeah sounds good it will give us time to relax before the next Gym battle." Bede said.
"Alright let's go to shops." Hop said.
The five headed to the clothing store to pick out clothes for Circhester. Each of them decided to stick with their own style of clothes just in the aspect of winter. So after purchasing their clothes they headed to a nearby restaurant to eat before heading to Circhetser. They walked into a restaurant called McMooMoo and sat down at a table.
"Hello, welcome to McMooMoo what can I get for your five today." the waiter said.
"I would like to order a meatball sub with cola." Hop said.
"I will take the chicken sandwich with strawberry soda." Bede said.
"I will have a chicken salad with water please." Gloria said.
"I will order the double bacon cheeseburger with lemon-lime." Victor said.
"And I will have the spicy chicken curry with lemon-lime." Marnie said.
"Alright I will have your order out in no time." the waiter said heading into the kitchen.
The five of them waited for their food to be ordered, and in about 10 minutes their food was out. They ate to their heart's content and their meals were very good. They finished and paid for their food before heading to Circhester.
"Alright so the way to Circhetser is a long way away we will walk until we are halfway there and we will set up camp for the night." Bede said.
They traveled through Route 8 and encountered more wild Pokemon and Trainers. They reached a spot to set up camp for the night and as always they made curry and released their Pokemon to relax as well. After setting up the table they all sat around to eat curry and this time Gloria and Victor used a special G-Max source that they found and it made the curry taste excellent.
