Hey guys welcome back to the story I know it's been about 3 months since the last update, but I am back for this chapter. I hope you guys are still enjoying the story and I promise after the next 3-4 chapters is when things take a turn. Also special thanks to everyone who put this story on their reading list it means a lot to me that you guys are enjoying the story. So let's get on with this chapter.
After their battle against Gordie and Melony the five trainers headed down Route 9 to make their way to the next Gym in Spikemuth. Marnie however wasn't really fond of going to Spikemuth, not only because it's where she came from, but also it is where she just fight against her brother in order to Comintern her journey to the Pokémon Championship. They continued their path through the route until they reached the point where they had to go on water.
"Great, just great how are we gonna get across?" Hop said, frustrated.
"Well I have a Rotom Bike that should get me across, but I'm not sure about the rest of you?" Bede said, getting his bike out.
"We can use our Pokemon to get across, I'm sure we have some Water or Flying Pokemon that we can use." Gloria said.
"Good idea I will send out my Cramrount to swim across, Victor you can use either Corvinknight or Drednaw to help get across." Hop said.
"That could work, but what about Marnie and Gloria they don't have anything to get across with?" Victor said, looking at the two.
"How about we share a ride like me and Hop could get across while you and Marnie could get across." Gloria said.
"Good idea let get going before the storm comes." Victor said.
Hop sent out his Cramrount and it was enough for him and Gloria to get on across the water. Meanwhile, Victor sent out his Drednaw and him and Marnie got on its back and headed out to the water. The five of them got across the water along the way found their way across Route 9. An hour as pass since they departed from the edge of Circhester, and so far the water has been rough, but the next thing they knew the storm came.
"Everyone hold on tight and just keep going straight there should be a price of land for us to settle in before we continue." Victor said, as his Drednaw and the other continued on straight.
However the storm caught up with them and made their path unclear to see. Once they got to shore they found a nearby empty cave where they settled in to let the storm pass through.
"Alright everyone I guess we set up camp until the storm passes by and judging by the storm it will be awhile." Victor said putting his bag down.
The rest of the gang started to set up their tents and gear around the cave. They started a fire to keep warm and Gloria started to use the fire to make some food for them.
"Hey everyone so I made us some sausage and grilled veggies for us to eat so let's dig in." Gloria said as the others gathered around the fire.
"Thanks Gloria it looks really good." Hop said eating.
Everything sat around and enjoyed the food Gloria made. To help pass the time they all talked about their favorite battle moment and funny moments they had on their journey. Along with moments form their past that they shared with the group.
"So anyways I remember when me, Hop, and Gloria were younger. Hop decided it be a good idea to ride the Dubwools for fun. Instead the Dubwools ramped him in the fence." Victor said laughing as the others laughed.
"How was I suppose to know that the Dubwools was gonna ram me?" Hop said.
"Well you said it was gonna work." Gloria said laughing.
The five finished their meal and helped clean around the cave. They decided to sleep for the night and resume to Spikemuth in the morning. Everyone headed into their tents for the night, however, Marnie couldn't rest so she got up to sit by the fire. Unaware that Victor had the same idea.
"Victor, what are you doing up?" Marnie asked.
"I could be asking you the same thing Marnie?" Victor asked.
"Well I couldn't sleep, what about you." Marnie asked.
"Same problem with you." Victor answered as he sat next to Marnie.
The two stared at the fire. Until they both decided to look at each other. When they did a blush formed on both of their faces. Victor decided to break the silence between them.
"So Marnie what is your brother like as a Gym Leader?" Victor asked.
"He is very strong. I remember growing up with him and he was very strong and I could never win against him. But even though he may not look like it he is a very kind hearted leader and I look up to him." Marnie said to Victor.
"That is amazing Marnie, so I'm guessing tomorrow you are prepared to face your brother?" Victor asked.
"I hope I do, if I had to be honest I'm actually very scared to face my brother, I never won a battle against him and even with dynamax he still beats me. But I've been training my hardest and I feel that I can beat him and continue my path to the championship." Marnie said.
"You can do it Marnie, and I know I speak for everyone when I say we believe in you and we will always have your back no matter what." Victor said.
"Thanks Victor, your always so kind to me and you have such a passionate heart. Even when we met you seemed to always keep a straight face on you and you believe in others and your Pokémon. Thank you Victor for being an amazing friend." Marnie said hiding her blush.
"It's no problem Marnie. You are a great friend to me as well. And we always talk to each other about anything and even though we only been traveling for about a month it's like we known each other's for years." Victor said putting his arm around Marnie.
"Don't worry about tomorrow I will be cheering you on." Victor said.
The two of them were blushing a lot. The two continued to stare at each other and keep each other company. After a while they fell asleep on each other near the fire. And both of them slept peacefully through the night. The next morning Gloria woke up first in her tent. She stepped out of her tent to see the two sleeping on each other's shoulders.
"Big bro I really hope you are happy with her." Gloria said to herself approaching the two.
"Hey you two wake up before Hop see you." Gloria said, shaking the two.
The two shot up awake and realized they were on each other.
"Good morning Gloria, Morning Marnie." Victor said getting up.
"Let's get the others awake and let's head out to Spikemuth." Marnie said.
After everyone was awake they saw that the storm had ended and they continued their journey to Spikemuth. As they got to the end of the Route they saw the big entrance to Spikemuth open and the five of them headed inside for their next battle.
