"Rachel darling, your friend is here" Her fathers voice echoed through her empty room
"Who?"
"He said his name's Ken Adams." Rachel finally smiled for what felt like the first time in days.
"He's brought Emma with him"
"Okay let him in"

Rachel sat up in bed excited to see both her daughter and best friend.
"Mummmmy!"
"Hey princess, come and give Mummy a big hug."
"Are you feeling better Mummy."
"Yes sweetheart I'm feeling much better now that your here."
"Heyy what about me" Rachel let out a small laugh
"I feel better now that your here as well Joey"
"Mummy I'm thirsty."
"I'm sure that if you go ask grandpa very nicely he'll make you whatever drink you want okay baby."
"Okay Mummy"

Emma happily ran out the room leaving her mother and uncle alone.
"So Rach where's all you stuff."
"Oh yeah um...Well you see my father said that maybe I needed a new start so he helped me get rid of all my old things and we're both going to go shopping tomorrow to replace it all."
"Wait. So your not moving back home."
"Home? What home Joey?"
"Come on Rach."
"No Joey seriously what home? Ross has moved on with his life and it's time I do the same."
The sound of little feet could be heard as Emma ran back into the room.
"Mummy look what grandpa Green gave me."
"Woww did he give you chocolate milk baby?"
"Yeah!"
"wow that's so cool." Rachel lifted her young daughter onto her bed and wrapped her arms around her while she drank the milk out of a sippy cup.
"So what do you want to do today with Mummy and I Ems."
"PARK" Joey smiled at his niece.
"The park it is then, Ems why don't you and I go get your coat and shoes on and Mummy will be down in a minute okay"
"Okay!" Emma jumped off the bed and grabbed her Uncles hand dragging him out the room.
"Let's go uncle Joey!"

Rachel grabbed the few items of clothing she had left and threw them on not really caring how she looked at the moment. The park wasn't very far away from her fathers house so the chances of someone she knows seeing her are very slim.
"Okay I'm ready let's go."

At the park
"Emma sweetheart be careful"
"Mummy come push me" Rachel happily walked over to her daughter and took Joeys place pushing the swing.
"Are you having fun sweetheart?"
"Yes Mummy." Joey stood to the side watching the heartwarming moment.
"You know she really missed you when you left."
Rachel looked at her friend and gave him a sad smile
"Yeah I know I missed her too."
"She kept talking about how she wanted you to come home and take her to the park."
"PARK!" The adults laughed at Emma's sudden outburst.
"Did daddy not take you to the park princess."
"No he with Julie." Her face suddenly fell
"What did you say Ems?"
"Daddy always with Julie now he say his to busy to go to the park." Rachel looked at Joey
"Is this true?"
"Rach listen-"
"No joey you listen. Ross has a responsibility to look after and care for our daughter and he's now spending all of his time with Julie it's ridiculous."
"You know Rach you had the same responsibility." Her eyes widened at what just came out of his mouth
"Shit I'm sorry okay I-I just."
"It's fine. Me and Emma are going home now and I think it's time you did the same." It was clear that she want fine. She realised that her leaving had affected her friends more than she ever thought. She knew Joey was still angry at her but that was the least of her worries right now.
"Look I'm sorry okay but you know your making Ross out to be this terrible guy and he's not while you were away he had to do everything for himself and Emma while balancing work. Him being with Julie is the first time he's had any time to himself. You hurt him Rach but he's happy now. So just-just don't go ruining it okay. Look I think it'll be better if I take Emma back to Ross's okay."
"Oh Emma isn't going back to Ross's her home is with me now."
"What? Rachel this isn't a good idea."
"I don't care anymore Joey Emma is going to be staying with me and my father. Now if you excuse us it's getting late and we best be getting home. So good night."
"Rachel wait!"
