The one where they're falling apart

The One With The Questions

"Rach..."
"He lied to me."
"I know but-"
"He lied to me!!"
"Rachel-"
"Why would he do that?"
"Maybe he was protecting himself."
"What?"
"Maybe he just didn't want get hurt again incase you left."
"But I-I wouldn't I-"
"I know you wouldn't leave again Rach but he doesn't....Look I think you should go talk to him."
"Yeah okay."

After knocking on the door twice it finally opens.
"Hi."
"What are you doing here?"
"I just want to talk."
"Well I don't so-"
"Ross please."
"Fine what do you want to say?"
"Can't I come in?"
"Julie's here so."
"That's actually what I want to you talk about."
"What?"
"I know that you and Julie aren't dating."
"What? I have no idea what you talking about?"
"Monica told me."
"Monica's lying."
"Ross."
"Julie sweetie come here."
Ross shouts for her to come to the door and Rachel watches closely. She hasn't seen Julie in years and is shocked to find that she hasn't changed at all.
"Oh hello Rachel."
"Hi."
"So Julie Rachel seems to believe that we're not dating."
"What?"
"Yeah she seems to think that I'm single."
"Umm Ross we-"
It was clear to Rachel that Ross hadn't told Julie that  they were "dating" and she therefore has no idea what he was talking about. Her face was filled with confusion as Ross continued to talk about their nonexistent relationship.
"I mean I know your having a hard time right now Rach but-"
"Ross!"
"Yes dear?"
"Ross I'm sorry but we're not dating. I'm sorry if I gave you that impression."
Rachel had to hold her breathe so she didn't burst out laughing.
"Julie I-"
"I think I should go Ross."
Rachel smiles at Julie as she walks past her and down the hall.
"Soooo."
"Ya know what Rachel you should go."
"I-I just want to know why you lied to me Ross."
"It doesn't matter."
"Yes it does. It matters to me."
Ross leans against the door frame and rests his head in his hands.
"Look this isn't the time."
"Ross please." Her voice was so quite he barley heard her. After taking a few deep breathes Ross finally speaks.
"I-I was just scared okay....I was scared that if we started something again then you would just leave like last time."
His voice cracked as he spoke.
"Ross hunny. I'm here to stay okay. I'm not going anywhere I'm never going to leave again."
"But how do I know that's true."
"Ross." Rachel's voice was now cracking.
"I promise you that I will never leave. I will never make that mistake again. I hate that I left okay. I hate myself for it. I hate that I broke your heart. I hate that I left Emma. I hate that I hurt the group. I'm so sorry Ross."
"I know."
"Can you forgive me?"
"Yeah........I think I can."
"Rach."
"Yeah?"
"Do you want to come in."
"I would love to."
