eventually * HIDDLESTON

it was getting later, the sun hadn't yet met the earth, only starting to leak slowly into the horizon. seeping a golden glow over the perimeter.

we were laying on a patch of grass that hadn't been soaked by the fake rain, a thin blanket sat snugly under our heated bodies. libby's head was on my stomach, we were laying in a T shape. my hands were knotted tightly in her hair, once again braiding away at small segments.

"i've got a good one." libby broke me out of my thoughts. "go ahead." i jutted my stomach out slightly under her head. her head bobbled slightly with the movement.

"today is only one day in all the days that will ever be. but what will happen in all the other days that ever come can depend on what you do today-"

"ernest hemingway." i interrupted, libby scoffed in response, shook her head and continued.

"depend on what you do today. it's been that way all this year. it's been that way so many times." she then proceeded to roll onto her side and look at me. "you're too good at this, it hurts my brain." a soft whine left her throat, showing me grabby hands as if she were a child; i pulled her to me.

our position had changed, her head now rested on my chest, i was holding her tight to my figure, a hand was placed on my abdomen, flat and firm.

"do i love you? my god, if your love were a grain of sand-"

"oo i know this one! goldman!" she was excited. libby then waved her hand in my direction as a signal to continue.

" if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be an entire universe of beaches." my gaze never left libby. the way her bottom lip tucked into the gap of her teeth, the slight push of air trapped between her cheeks, the adoring glint sparking in her eyes, admiring the glistening grass below us.

"that's beautiful."

my statement did not need further explanation- a silent understanding was built between us on my meaning. mine slightly different from hers.
