17:37 PMhe was glaring at me. he was angry, i think? and oh boy i was scared. this man, this hunk of a man- was watching my every move, every breath. no pressure, i guess.
"you're cheating." blunt, i like it.
"tom, how in gods name can i cheat at monopoly."
"i've just watched you take a fifty instead of a twenty!" okay, so he was angry, shouting to be precise.
"pfft, no, you're getting old." i tried to blow off his accusation, i promise. but this time i attempted to sneak the fifty back into the bank and take my well deserved twenty. "i'm the banker now." he snatched the lid away from me and put it in front of himself.
"no, no way thomas. no way." i stood from my chair harshly. "you give that back right now." i pointed my finger at him. and this man had the audacity to shake his head, grin and run away from me.
the board was still in his hand, and monopoly notes were now flying all around the living room.
shouting after him, his childish giggles filled the house, that was until his foot placed right on the one-hundred note.
he was on the floor.
tom falling onto the floor, lying on his back, the lid of the box and all of its contents were sprawled across the floor boards. i had to clutch my stomach and bend myself down just to keep my laughter at bay.
the look on toms face was terrifying, i genuinely thought he was angry at me; until he cracked a small smile then joined in with the laughter. reaching to his side and pulling my leg, i collapsed onto the floor with him.
slowly rolling onto my said, my head aligned with toms, our laughter ceased gently. he wrapped his arms around my body and pulled me into him, silent chuckles stealing our breath. we just sat in pure silence for a moment, the only audible noise was our panting breath.
of course that was until we both couldn't take the humour anymore and once again burst into melodic laughter at toms fateful fall.
