"Oi!" Cosette and Fred both turned their heads to see George running towards them down the corridor. He had to catch his breath once he finally caught up with them, but he looked directly at Fred, "Pucey's looking for you. He knows it was you who set his broom on fire."

"Shit," Fred looked panicked for a second but then him and George started to laugh. He leaned down to press a kiss to Cosette's cheek before starting to take off in the opposite direction, "I'll catch up with you later, I'm going to go hide in the common room."

"Fred we have-" Cosette sighed, trying to remind him that he can't blow off class whenever he felt like it, but he was already out of earshot. She turned towards George who was still laughing, "He's going to fail Potions."

"That's his problem," George shrugged his shoulders and the two of them continued on towards their next class. They spotted Adrian Pucey at the other end of the hall, trying to spot Fred as he entered the class as well, but Fred was long gone.

Fred usually sat between her and George during their classes but since Fred decided to skip out on this period, Cosette just sat beside George. They were in the middle of learning about Memory Potions and today they were supposed to actually brew them.

"He really shouldn't be missing this class," Cosette muttered once George had grabbed a couple cauldrons for the two of them and the necessary ingredients. She glanced back towards the door, hoping to see Fred change his mind but knowing that Adrian was sitting just a few desks away, also scanning the room for Fred, it was very unlikely that he was going to show up.

"Fred will be fine," George assured her. "He's a quick learner."

"Yeah but he won't be able to make up for-"

"Setty, it's Fred we're talking about," George put a comforting hand on her arm, "You care more about his education than he does. He'll be fine."

She pressed her lips together in a thin line, not wanting to argue with George. He had a point. Fred wasn't going to be the least bit bothered that he missed out on another class.

As she was reading off the directions for the potion, she took note of everything that was on the table in front of them. It really didn't seem like a difficult potion, just time consuming.

"Fred Weasley, did your brother decide he didn't need to participate in class today?"

George and Cosette glanced at each other in confusion before looking up at Professor Snape who was standing a few feet in front of their desk. It took them both a second to realize that Snape had gotten the brothers confused.

"Professor, that's not-"

But Snape interrupted her before she could correct him, "I did not ask for your input, Ms. O'Connor."

But George only shrugged his shoulders, "It appears so."

"Five points from Gryffindor," Snape muttered before continuing to walk around the classroom.

Cosette's mouth fell open as she stared at George. She hit her palm against his shoulder, "Why didn't you correct him? Now you're just going to take the fall for Fred's stupid decision."

"It's fine, Fred would do the same for me."

"Would he?" Cosette raised her eyebrows. It was a genuine question. Fred loved his brother more than anyone in the world, but he had a tendency to be quite selfish at times, even if he didn't mean to be.
