In Another Maze(Minho x Reader x Newt)

Chapter Three

Y/n's pov

I woke up to the sound of rustling outside my shack. I got up to see what it was, but it was still a little dark.

My eyes got used to the dark in a second and I could see a dark figure making its way to the entrance of the maze. Usually, two runners get up and go to the maze but that was later on in the morning. I put on my shoes and started walking after the figure.

The maze wall was still closed but I guess they knew it opened soon. I tripped on the way behind then and they looked at me, but I stayed behind some bushes.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

The Maze walls were opening, and the person took a moment to stretch then jogged into the maze.

I wasn't a runner, but it seemed awfully suspicious that there weren't two people going in at the time. I decided to follow the person. They didn't have a steady pace. They sprinted, then stopped, then sprinted again. There were left turns and right turns and huge blocks you could climb up.

It had been nearly 30 minutes and the sunlight started to show. I could see the person more clearly and observed that they had dirty blonde hair. That was the only thing I know was familiar, but I decided for them to stop again to make sure it was the person I thought it was.

They finally stopped and stood at a tall wall for a moment and took a few deep breaths. There were a few blocks that could be climbed up and that's what they did. They climbed to the highest point.

I slowly followed after them due to my right arm still in some bandages. When I finally made it up to the top, I saw the person clearly. It was Newt.

I looked at him as he stared at the edge of the wall. He was mumbling something to himself.

Newt's POV

I sighed. "Finally, a way out of this miserable life... I can't finally end it here." I was about to jump then I heard a voice behind me say my name "Newt...? What are you doing here...?"

I turned around to see Y/n staring at me. "I-Uh-I ya know, enjoy the view here." That was obviously a lie. "Don't lie to me Newt." She said in a tone of disbelief. "I'm doing nothing of your concerns y/n. Please go back to the Glade." I told her as if she knew where to go.

"Don't lie to me! What are you doing here?! Were you going to jump!?" She raised her voice.

"I wasn't. I-"
" DON"T LIE TO ME! WERE YOU GOING TO JUMP?!"
"Yes..."

I saw that Y/n had tears streaming down her face. I wanted to tell her how I felt but I couldn't bring myself to.

Y/n's Pov

Newt had let one small tear down his face mouthing the words 'I'm sorry' then jumped.

I quickly dashed toward him being able to grab his hand with my right hand. I looked at him in the eyes.

"Newt you can't go through with this! It's not right!"
I yelled trying to pull him up, but he kept resisting causing my muscles in my arm to be tear apart again.

Newt looked at me tearing up "Y/n I'm sorry I'm hurting you! But please let go! I don't want to live like this anymore!" He kept pulling away, but I still held on despite all the pain.

"Newt please just stay with me! I don't want to lose you or anyone else! Please I'll help you through anything if you stay!" I tried my best convincing him not to let go.
