Chapter 10

The de breifing was very quick. Alice couldn't focus on the cases because of the fact she was worried about Elle. It wasn't like her to be so irresponsible.  She's still not answering any of my texts or call. Reid says," Alice !"
She snapped out of the trance and says," Yes doctor?"
Reid says," the rest of the team is on the jet. We need to go. I'll rebreif you on the cases. Gideon is the boss as soon as we touch down."
She shakes her head confused and says," What state are we going to ?"
He smiles widely and says," Utah. Men are ending up in hotel rooms shot."
Alice grabs his hand heading to the jet trying to focus on all the information Reid was telling her. Reid sits down next to Gideon as they pull out the chess board. Alice smirks and thinks so another couple hours on the jet just to see doctor Reid loss to Gideon.
Morgan taps her shoulder after they take off. He rubs her shoulder and whispers," you look tense are you alright?"
Alice sighs and says," I think hotch is going to fire Elle."
Jj over hears and says," unfortunately love I don't think Hotch has much choice because she has missed the evaluation and never came in this morning."
Alice says," that's what's weirding me out. I have know Elle for most of my life.. I really just think that last case fucked her up. Can anyone tell me what happened?"
Gideon says," It was a really tough case. I called the shot that broke the guys rules.  Hotch sent her home with Anderson because she was almost asleep."
Reid says," Hotch saw Anderson and screamed at him for not being with Elle."
Morgan says," it was too late by that time we weren't even notified she was in the hospital. "
Gideon says," I still blame myself for that."
Alice looks at Gideon face covered in gloom. She knows this job just eats him alive. He doesn't find comfort in anything. Though she loved the stories he told . She knew that he can't possibly do this forever. She says," Gideon you made the call to catch the guy. No profile is 100 percent spot on. You did what you needed to do. If it was me I would be glad you made the call."
Gideon sighs and says," Thanks Alice.  Hopefully no one else from this team has to put through that again. "
Alice hugs Gideon and says," you can't change or protect us Gideon.  The world is a dark place."
Gideon hugs back for a second hiding any emotion. Reid notices and says," Back to the case, Whats the plan when we land?"
Morgan smiles widely as Alice falls asleep on his shoulder. The next thing Alice knew is that she was in Utah. Morgan says," Ready girl?"
Alice sighs and says," as I'll every be any updates."
Morgan says," Garcias flying out because the guy went under the radar. Last know was here. He could be anywhere."
Alice rolls her eyes and says," I just hate people. "
Morgan says," Yeah guys a pedo too. The victims are getting younger and younger. Last grab was 18."
Alice says," maybe hes escalating the girl he actually wants to takes age."
Morgan calls Penelope," Hey babygirl. I need you when you land to pull up any cases involving this guys mo. I want atleast a 4 State span search."
Garcia says," Sure handsome. "
Alice grabs Morgan as they find Reid waiting . Reid says," you guys do know this unsubs profile puts him at a risk for fleeing at any moment. "
Morgan says," This guy kills across states. Why would he kill in the same town 2 in two weeks?"
Alice says," He wants something here. "
Reid gulps ," or someone ."
They drive down to the police station quickly introducing themselves and catching up with the rest of the team. Gideon looks at Alice and says," I might need you to go undercover as a teen."
Gideon continues," the victims are young females home alone. Most of the victims were living with people at the time. The unsub gets off on the risk factor."
Reid grabs the photos of the victims and says," not very many defense wounds. It's someone these people know. "
Garcia walks in and says," The match of the motive fits 3 other cases. The body's position narrowed it down quiet a bit. She hands the paperwork over. Alice looks and says," There must be a person this unsub is after specifically . The way he gets into these young women's houses from the front shows he's good looking and confident."
Reid says," there is also a possibly that he just kills in sprees. A couple of serial killers have stated that they went after victims randomly based on the easiest to convince. Who's more navie then teenagers who are home alone?"
They spilt up trying to talk to and hit every crime scene. So far the unsub was radio silent.
The profile was narrowing down a creepier path. The fact that the unsub was under radar showed significant data that he was in a town he cherished a knew.
Alice giving the profile says," Anyone move out of town and then back in is a subject. It has to be someone everyone knew and grew up her.  I would say we are looking for some one on the younger side with a direct tie to this town. He's known here. These girls would not have let a stranger into their home. It could possibly even be someone the parents know."
Reid adds," the likeability is that it is some one of authority. A teacher, a congressman, someone who doesn't seem alarming. He's most likely charismatic and handsome."
The hunt was on when a teenage girls parents raced into the police station . The mother screaming in agony that they had just gotten back into town and their daughter was missing.
Alice looks at the picture trying not to give any emotion as both parents were separated and questioned by Derek and Gideon.
The parents knew alot of people that were of interest.  Jj and Alice look through the list of charges of anyone of the town that came back after leaving. Alice says," Wait stop look at this. Run this dudes name. He's a teacher now. He was the quarterback of the football team."
Jj says," Everyone in a little town like this probably worshipped this guy."
Garcia pulls up any records on this guy. The charges read rape of a minor. The girls name pops up as Garcia cross references it with all the media in the other towns. Alice says," I feel like this is our guy," she sprints towards Gideon after he finished questions the parents. She whispers," William Faulkner a teacher. Charged with rape of a minor in highschool.  The girl was 2 years younger with religious parents," shows him the picture of the girl.
Gideons eyes widen and he tells the parents the name.
The dad says," I used to go to school with him. Girls used to come out left and right. Then Sarah she was the nail that closed that coffin. They were dating , he parents threw a fit."
Garcia comes out grabbing Morgan , Gideon and Alice. She says," hes got a connection to the dads in this town. If we don't hurry I am sure another girl from this town will go missing. Here's his latest address. And a cabin."
Alice and Jj go to the cabin 20 mins out while Morgan and Reid go to the house.
Jj and Alice get to the cabin and search the outside together noticing a latched attic . Jj noticed the inside lights came on as Alice picked the lock. Jj says," Alice we can't. We should wait for backup .I think he's in the house. " She quietly call Morgan and says," Hes here. Come quickly. Alice found an attic . We hear sounds down there."
Alice says," i am glad we parked a while away. If he saw that car he would have ran."
They slow go down into the room finding. Two girls latched together and gagged. They start screaming. Alice says," shh we are fbi we are here to save you."
Jj and Alice work together to untie both the girls . The girls gasp for air and say," Hes in the cabin. We need to go now."
They rush to the entrance to become face with the most wicked yet slight attractive male. He says," Where do you think you two are going? You thought two agents could save you," he has the gun pointed at Alice's head.  Alice says," Everyone leave now. I'll be fine."
Jj takes the girls running up the stairs to safety.
He grabs Alice's throat gun cocked to the back of her head. He whispers," Fbi huh?" He unbuttoned her shirt and says," I guess this is better revenge for that person in this town who decided to ruin my career in the other states."
Alice says," I know about Sarah. The girl who got away.  You didn't assault her . You aren't that guy."
He tapped the gun on her temple and says," Dont you dare try to manipulate me. "
Alice coughing on her saliva says," I am not trying to . I know how it feels to have the past sneak up on you."
He chokes harder and says," I am already going away for kidnapping teens might as well murder you ."
Gideon shouts upstairs," Alice! Agent walker."
She yelps hearing the sound of someone  opening the wooden doors.
William demands," you make any sudden moves to me I'll blow her head off."
Gideon looks at Alice then back him motioning his hand. He says," We don't want to hurt you. So far you only have kidnapping charges . We don't know of your connection to the murder of Sarah. "
He smacks Alice with the gun again making her dizzy. Gideon says," you wouldn't hurt her would you?"
William winces and says," Her parents ruined my life."
Gideon continues to try to talk him down and says," Why kidnap the teenage girls? The parents are the one you are mad at."
