Chapter 17

The plane takes off with everyone except for the boss she had grown accustomed to. She was worried about what this meant. She was pondering in thought when Spencer asked her to join the chess game with him. Reid says," you seem distracted lately. Are you ok?"
     Morgan looks at her and says," yeah love. You have been looking at your phone a lot."
    Emily says," You do seem distracted since Hotch resigned."
      JJ goes in to say something and Alice says," you guys are reaching. It's nothing it's weird to think Gideon is gone and now Hotch."
    Morgan says," well your biggest bully what's wrong about that?"
    Alice says," We should focus on the case. Doesn't help this one especially Brutal."
   Morgan smiles and says," Talk about a heart breaker."
    Emily smacks him and says," easier for you guys to say it's not your exactly description of a victim getting your heart ripped out."
    We all leave the jet to be put into rentals. Emily slaps my thigh and says," Honey, what's eating you up? Is it the change with out Aaron? I never thought you two got a long."
Alice says," We didn't . It's just so soon that he would resign. This has to do with Strauss."
Just then Emily says," You are right. I have been dealing with Strauss and updating her on him. I had no choice."
Alice shocked says," Get out."
Emily concerned says," I——"
Alice says," Get out of my room. You should probably back away from this case in general."
Emily sadden leaves the room tears falling down as soon as she hit the hallway.
Alice texts Hotch," Emily told Strauss on you. What made you back away?"
A knock the door makes her jump. She says," Who is it?"
Morgan laughs and says," Me baby girl. Gracia found some out of control kids that fit the schedule this unsub is on."
She opens the door to Morgan holding a coffee. She sighs and says," You are the best!"
Morgan says," Something wrong with you and Em? She left said she's backing down from the case."
Alice says," She told on Hotch to Strauss."
Morgan eyes widen and he says," So she's the reason Strauss has been in and out of the office. I knew something was up with that Terrorist case she help on. Her and Strauss seemed super close."
She checks her phone. No new messages. He says," Have you meet some one?"
She says," No I was just thinking what makes us think that this kid is a bad kid. Wouldn't it make more sense to be an honor student?"
Morgan nods following her to the car. She opens the car putting her coffee in the cup holder. He drives to the police station. She gets out the car downing her coffee. She checks her phone again for maybe a message from Hotch. There's no messages. Morgan holds her waist as they walk into see Hotch, Emily, Spencer, and Jj. She was taken back so he doesn't want to talk to her. She walks up to Spencer kissing his cheek. Morgan says," Hotch you came back?"
Hotch says," Yeah I think we know who we are dealing with. A super smart kid and dying dad. They lure in victims through helping the kid with something. Morgan and Reid go to the school around the last abduction site. Call Garcia to narrow the search down. Emily and Jj appeal to the public see what they know."
They all leave to do what they are told.
Hotch looks at her and says," I am sorry about the No messages my wife when I resigned made me turn it off. We were actually finally back where we were fine."
She looks at the case file and says," Aaron, this job makes you happy. You won't be happy unless you are here."
Aaron says," I can't be here. She told me even coming back for this one case might case the end to us. I am only staying for this one case."
She looks at the file taking in every detail and says," Keep telling yourself that."
Hotch rubs his hands in his hair and Says," I can't handle this right now Alice. I can't handle the back and forth with you. I have a kid. I cant just leave."
Alice walks in to the other room after saying," I am done dealing with you. After this you will not be my boss or anyone I am dealing with. I don't know what this was but it was a mistake."
She walks to the vending machines. She grabs some chips. She walks back to conference room eating the chips. Spencer says," We found out who it is i believe."
Morgan says," We got it pinned to a neighbor hood."
Emily says," We need to hurry. We contacted the media she's as good as dead if we don't find her."
Alice says," I am so glad we are close after being here for 4 days I can't take much more."
Hotch says," Alice if that's so maybe she should go home. We need to be serious. Women are dying."
Alice rolls her eyes at him and say," let's compare the list of boys from the school to the neighborhood of people. Cross out any two parent homes."
Spencer says," And we can cross out anyone with more than one kid. It wouldn't really make it easy to lure women. Need a dad and son team. Son needs to be around 10ish to fully understand not to tell."
Hotch says," But not old enough to start questioning the dads Authority."
Garcia calls and says," I got it. Here's the address. Kid is 8 and dad is sick with cancer has a couple weeks."
They all jump in to svu rushing to the house hopping to save the latest girl abducted. When they get there Emily and Hotch are the first ones in. Emily comes out with the son after the son told Hotch where to find the dad. He comes out with the dad hand cuffed and hands him to the police.
Y'N walks up to Spencer sad says ," Where is the kid going to go?"
Spencer says," Most likely foster care."
She nods and heads toward the jet completely distraught over the last case. Reid comes first sitting next to her. Everyone comes in after with looks of gloom and exhausted.
The jet sets in to the sky as she's listening to her iPod. She scrolls through her songs still exhausted having trouble going to sleep. Hotch texts," I need to talk to you when we get back."
