"happy new year!"
seulgi sighed as she slumped on her swivel chair. that was the 10th person she had to greet ever since she went out from her home. never in her whole life she'd think that greeting people was actually tiring.
looking around, the dark haired girl strolled her way back to the door of their office and switched the film of the windows. she wouldn't want to hurt her cheeks next from smiling to every person who'll pass by. that would be a bad way to start her new year.
"feel defeated yet?" a voice greeted from the desk across hers. "ah, you were there? congratulations then, bogum-ssi" she replied, casually slumping back down her chair– legs casually resting on the table. "but the year just started. you still have 364 more days to cry about losing to me"
seulgi has always been the early bird from the five agents in their team. she doesn't do any errands or whatsoever in the morning, so usually she would just head straight to headquarters during their work days. she likes staying in the office anyway. though recently bogum, her co-agent made it his new year goal to come in the office earlier than her.
"363 days, seul. be kind to our little prince" a soft voice chimed from the door. it was joohyun's.
"that's something coming from a shortie like you– ow!"
junmyeon yelped as she stepped on his foot. what's worse, is that her shoes had heels on them. "that hurts!" he exclaimed, only to be returned with a sly grin from the latter. "doyoung's late again?" joohyun asked.
"noona, why would you ask that first thing in the new year? i'm a changed person" doyoung, who had been leaning by the door whined causing the older members to laugh.
in terms of time, he was the opposite of seulgi. it's not a bad case though, he's just consistently the last to arrive in the office.
"okay, okay.. since when did you become a red head though" joohyun asked. "ah, just two days ago. looks good right?" the younger replied, brushing his hair to show off the new color.
they were SM's elites, the five best agents of all. these five were led by the one and only kim taeyeon, the most respected mentor in the agency. the team members were picked by her personally too, but it wasn't easy as well.
"good morning, also happy new year" taeyeon greeted as she entered the office. the five lined up and stood straight, greeting her back enthusiastically. she smiled at them then placed her phone down the table, showing a news article.
DEAD MAN FOUND LOCKED AND BURNT IN A CAR
Kim Jung Seok, a wealthy businessman who owns a gasoline company has been found dead this morning in a burnt car.
According to the police, the body found was nearly identifiable but the car is claimed to be owned by the said victim. There were no found witnesses nor cctv footages around the area.
However, the police assures their continuous efforts to the investigation of this case in order to catch the culprit of this incident. Further updates will also be given soon.
"seems like a usual case" junmyeon stated. taeyeon shook her head, handing out a folder to joohyun. "operation trefoil?" she asked.
"in the crime scene, there was a trefoil flower found near the car. they think that it was his doing, so the case is now ours" taeyeon explained.
seulgi's ears perked up at the sudden news.
trefoil huh?
one of the greatest burdens both the police and their agents had to face was trefoil. he was a man– from what a past witness claimed, who killed such politicians and wealthy businessmen left and right for about 5 years now.
