"so you guys are in deep trouble?"
"basically how it is" seulgi sighed as she took a sip from her coffee. "how are you though? i see that your cafe's been doing well lately"
"huh?" the blonde haired girl asked, her bangs bouncing as she raised her head from crouching down to look for something in the bottom shelf. "what'd you ask?"
seulgi let out a small laugh. "i'm asking how are you"
"oh... i'm good. as always" she answered as she walked towards the desk near seulgi to place down the books she was looking for earlier.
"that's good, seungwan"
"no" she replied, to which seulgi raised her brow in confusion.
"i'm wendy now" seungwan said, tucking her hair behind her ear. seulgi frowned, "say all you want, you'll still be seungwan to me" she retorted. "you bold woman, using your codename as the name of your cafe"
"first of all, wendy really is my name. it's my english name remember?" she stated. "besides, i'm a walking dagger. if any person from my past missions tries to harm me, they'll just bleed in seconds" she said, confidence spread all over her face.
seulgi's face soured at her friend's confidence, for she knew how much of a baby she was in real life. outside and most especially at the agency, wendy was a feisty and fierce woman who can knock a whole group down if she needed to. but seulgi knew that seungwan, her long time friend, was a soft fragile girl who was naturally scared of things.
and that was the main reason she left SM.
"hey are you really not gonna go back? we still need more brains like yours you know" she asked. seungwan smiled, taking a sip from the bottle of water near her. "i've decided already, seul"
seulgi returned the smile, accepting and respecting her decision. well, it was really tough being an agent most especially from SM. their cases were much dangerous and complicated than other ones. even agents like them can admit to that.
"you guys are pretty much smart though" seungwan added. "the elites, am i right?"
the latter scoffed, disgusted at her remark. she didn't care about the title given to them, but she felt that it was unnecessary. though no one can deny that every person have different skills and it just happened that the five of them were stronger than the others but because of that the treatment towards their agents became shitty. they deserve recognition yes, but it should only stop there. in the end they're all just trying to catch bad guys, so she doesn't really see the reason why should a title determine how one should be treated.
"so what's your game plan?"
seungwan's question snapped her out of her thoughts. "ah..." seulgi uttered. "the police will do the media control or whatever"
"you really think they can do that"
"definitely not"
seungwan cracked a laugh at her honest reply. "we'll back them up of course, i don't know how but they'll surely need us for it. but for the meantime, we'll focus on the case just as planned" seulgi explained.
"hm.." seungwan hummed in agreement. "and what about love?"
seulgi almost spat her coffee at the sudden question. seungwan laughed, knowing that her best friend was never up to anything near to romance. "what? as if you don't have other agents swooning over you! i literally caught one planning to confess to you or whatever– wait, did someone did lately?" seungwan continued, excitedly waiting for her answer.
