Jessica's P.O.V.

We all go to our lockers. I grab my backpack and my bag with clothes in it. I completely forgot that I was supposed to go to Ivy's house after school. That's not going to happen now. I'm going to go home and relax.

I start to walk back, when I hear something. I look down another hallway that has lockers in it and see Jake surrounded by three guys in masks. "Jake." I whisper, as one of the guys turns around.

"Grab her." One of them says.

"No!" Jake yells.

I turn and run. I see Ivy, "Jess what-" a hand wraps around my mouth and another around my torso. Next I hear a gunshot and see Ivy fall.

"No!" I try to scream, but the man is covering my mouth. The man pulls me around the corner then I hear another shot.

"She's taken care of." One of them says. No!

"Look at this boys. We got two for the price of one. Come on, let's get them out of here."

I can't believe they shot Ivy. They killed her. I can't- they didn't- she didn't do anything. "Come on let's go." The guy holding me says. We go outside and I see two trucks. He pushes me towards one, and Jake get's pushed to the other.

He opens the door and takes my bags. "Let's work fast." The other guy says. He takes out of handcuffs. Real handcuffs, and puts them on me, with my hands in front of me. Next he takes out two pieces of cloth, he put one in my mouth as a gag, and the other over my eyes. "Lie down." He says. I lie down on the seat, and then I feel us begin to move. They shot Ivy.

Ashton's P.O.V.

"What do you mean they haven't come out?" Mom yells.

"Ma'am, please calm down, we're doing a sweep of the building right now." We see paramedics run in with a stretcher. This can't be good. Mom breaks down crying.

"Was there anyone else who didn't come out?" I ask.

"Yes, a young Miss Ivy Hunter." No Ivy had to have come out.

"No, Ivy made it out, she has to be out here." She has to have; she can't be hurt or missing, or anything.

"No, I'm sorry, but she didn't make it out." Just then we see the paramedics come out. We all rush over there.

When I see who's on the stretcher I stop dead in my tracks. "Ivy..." I whisper. I start to go closer.

"Please stay back sir." One of the paramedics says.

"Please, which hospital is she going to?"

"St. Luke's."

I turn to see my family. "Was that...?" Mom trails off.

"No- no, it was Ivy."

"Oh... you poor thing." my mom says hugging me. "Where'd they take her?"

"St. Luke's."

"That's probably where they took Adam there too..."

"Mr. Kagan," the police guy is back. "We didn't find you children, and because of that, well the truth is that they're probably a lost cause."

"How can you say that about my children?" Mom gasps.

"Ma'am, the people who did this most likely took them. They could be anywhere. Our department doesn't have the resources to find them." With that he walks away.

"How would they have gotten away?" Mom asks. "Didn't they have the whole building covered?"

"Apparently not." Dad mutters.

"Ashton, why don't you go see what happened to Ivy." Mom tells me. She's trying to distract herself.

"No I-"

"No, go see what happened to her." I nod my head and leave. I walk to my truck and get in.

At the hospital I see Ivy's parents. "Oh Ashton, we completely forgot to call you, we're so sorry."

"It's okay." I know that they're really sorry; they treat me like their own son.

"Do you know anything?" I ask.

"No, only that she's in surgery, she got shot in the stomach." Oh god.

"Mr. and Mrs. Hunter?"

"That's us." Ivy's mom says.

"Your daughter just came out of surgery, she should be fine."

Jake's P.O.V.

They tell us to go, and get our stuff, so I do. I want out of here. I mean who wouldn't? So, I grab my stuff, but then someone grabs me and suddenly I'm surrounded by people in masks. This isn't going to end well.

I see Jess walking down the hall and she see's me. I completely stop moving because then one of the guys turns around and see's her. "Grab her." He says.

"No!" I yell. They can't take her.

She turns and runs and two of the people go after her. After a few seconds I hear a gunshot. "No..." I whisper. They shot her? Why? Because she saw me? No. This can't happen.

Then I see her get dragged around the corner. So they didn't shoot her, but then who got shot? Another guy comes around the corner and says, "She's taken care of." Did they shot Mellissa- I mean wouldn't that be terrible if they did.

"Look at this boys. We got two for the price of one. Come on let's get them out of here."

One of them grabs me and takes me outside, through a back door. They lead Jess and me to two different trucks. Jess is just following them, she's in shock. I resist but I get smacked in the head. "Bag." One guy says. They take the bag, and throw it in the back.

The guy takes a pair of handcuffs and puts them on me. Then he grabs a piece of cloth and puts it in my mouth, the ties it behind my head.

"Now get in the truck." I get in and he grabs another piece around my eyes. "Now lie down across the seat and don't make a sound." I do as I'm told.

Who'd they shoot? Luckily it wasn't Jess, but who was it? Was it Mellissa, one of Jess' friends, maybe it was some random seventh grader, I don't know. I'm just happy it wasn't Jess, but I feel bad for whoever it was. If it was Mellissa, I don't feel so bad.

It sound so mean, but she's done some pretty mean things to Jess that's gotten me weeks worth of the silent treatment. Like when Mellissa and her were suppose to be working on a project and Mellissa locked her out of the house for an hour and it was about thirty out and snowing, and nobody noticed. That got all three of us the silent treatment for two weeks. Memories just think of memories. Happy ones are better.

I don't know how long we drive for, but we eventually stop. I hear the door open, and then the blindfold is taken off. "Come on, let's go." I get out of the truck and the cold hits me like a brick. Kind of wish I was wearing more than a sweatshirt.

I look to my left to see an airplane. More than likely a private jet that's going to take me who knows where.
