Ashton Kagan's P.O.V.

Right now we're on lockdown because there are people in the middle school with guns. That's where Jessica and Jake are right now. Only parents are allowed to come picks us up, which sucks, cause mom and dad are gone. They left me in charge, but since I'm not eighteen yet I can't take Cole and leave.

Right now, I'm still in my first hour study hall even though it's supposed to be third hour right now. This is one of three classes I have with Cole, the other two are choir and band, oh and home room but that's not even a real class so it doesn't count. I have choir with him every other day. "Do you think they're okay?" Cole asks me.

"Of course and by now Adam and Jaxson must know. They'll do something." They have too.

"Ashton, have you called your parents to come pick you and Cole up?" the teacher asks.

"No, I can't my parents are away." I say.

"We can't let you two go then, neither of you are eighteen yet." I'm only sixteen, a sophomore, while Cole's a freshman.

"Wait ma'am, do you know anything, anything at all about what's going on up there."

"No Ashton, I'm sorry why?"

"I have a younger brother and sister up there."

"No, I'm sorry."

"Did you find anything out?" Cole asks me.

"No, she said she didn't know anything."

"This sucks. What if they find who they are? Who we are?"

"That would be bad, really bad, and dad would flip out. That wouldn't be good at all." When Dad flips out, we avoid him until he cools down.

Unfortunately he usually takes his anger out on Jessica. I mean he doesn't hit, he'd never touch any of us, but he yells. He'll yell at any of us really but mostly her. Anything, and I mean anything she does wrong she gets yelled at. None of us usually make him upset, he usually comes home in a bad mood.

I look at the clock. Hardly five minutes have passed. It's going to be one long day.

Jessica's P.O.V.

Another guy with Jake comes over. They take us by the door, which is covered so we can't see out, or other people can't see in. They open the first set of doors and I gasp at what I see. We both see Adam lying on the ground with a very bloody shoulder.

I look at Jake. He's really close with Adam. Jake looks like he's going to be sick. "What did you do?" he whispers.

"We would have done nothing if he hadn't been here. By the way, how did he know that something was wrong, that he needed to come check it out?"

The guy looks at Jake and me. "How...?"

"We don't know." I say, "We haven't had any contact with them."

"Yeah, we haven't had any contact with them, you took our phones and when we were on the computer we weren't allowed on email, we haven't had anyway to contact them." Jake says trying to help me.

The guy gives us a look. "Get back to lunch." He tells us.

"Wait." We hear. We all look at Adam. "Jaxson knows, he knows." That's all he says before he closes his eyes.

"Get them out of here," they start to push us out, "Now!"

We head back to lunch. "He knows Jake, he knows." I say referring to Jaxson.
