After Jazz Band we go to my study hall. "Go in and sit down." A man in mask says.

We walk in. "Sit there." One guy tells us. We sit down. I see that Corbin Miller, and Andrew Gold have walked in. They're friends with Justin, so he'll fit right in with them. "All of you will treat this like a normal study hall. Talk, do homework, read, whatever it's a normal study hall." The guy says and then walks over the doorway.

Jake's P.O.V.

How the hell did this perfectly normal morning turn into this? Right now I'm sitting in the auditorium waiting for my name to be called. Then I hear "Jessica Kagan and Justin Molone." She's with him? My girlfriend cheated on me with him and he knew it. Lets just say that was the end of our friendship. Lizzy, the girl, doesn't go to school here anymore though. Anyway by the end of the day he'll probably have Jess wrapped around his finger.

Then I hear "Jake Kagan and Melissa Peters." Oh god. Out of all the seventh and eighth graders I got stuck with her. As we walk past Jessica, Melissa smirks at her. This whole thing is happening and she's smirking? She's crazy. "Be nice to Jessica." I tell her. But knowing her, that probably won't happen. We end up with my schedule to follow.

"What do you have first?" Melissa asks me.

"Jazz band." I reply flatly. We are told to go to our classes, and that's we do.

By the time we get to the band room, I'm practically carrying her.

I look over at Jess. She has a look on her face that's asking for help. I watch as Justin grabs her and gets her out of there.

I walk over to her. "Are you okay?" I ask.

"Yeah." Is all she says. No she's not. I know that look on her face. She's asking herself why is she weak. Out of the two of us she's actually stronger. Okay, so maybe I shouldn't use the word stronger. But I don't know what other word to use.

When I was four I had a lung transplant. I mean I can still play sports and everything. I mean I play football, I wrestle, basketball, and I run track, like any normal kid. But I do have asthma, and I have to take medicine everyday.

"Are you sure he didn't do anything?" I ask shooting a look at Justin. He takes a few steps back putting his hands up in surrender.

"No he hasn't." she said.

"Are you sure?" I press.

"Yes." She says. Luckily the rest of Jazz band goes uneventful.

My next class is graphic art. When we get there the teacher tells us that it's a free day. I sit down by my friend Alex well Mellissa sits down on my other side. As we sit down the guy that Jess froze up front of walks in.

I turned back to my computer and keep talking to Alex. "This day has been crazy so far."

"Yeah, it has." I reply.

"Have you talked to Jess at all?"

"Yeah, but not very much."

"You probably don't like how she got paired with Justin do you?"

"I hate him, and don't like him around her."

"You sound more like her dad, than her brother." He tells me.

"Yeah, whatever." I say ending the conversation.

A little later I feel a hand on my shoulder. It's the guy from before. "What's you name?" he asks. I just look at him. "Well...?"

I sigh. "Jake Kagan." I say.

"So you're suppose to be in this class?" he asks again.

"Yeah." I say. He nods again and walks again.

"What was that about?" Alex asks.

"No idea." I say.

After graphic art we go to science, another class that I have with Jess. As we walk in the teacher says, "Go straight to your seats, do the bell ringer, and no talking." Nothing different about this class today.

We sit down and do the bell ringer. A bell ringer is something the teachers give us, to keep us quiet until the teacher is ready to start class. He walks out and people start to talk again. Well that didn't work, but then again, it never does.

Jess and Justin come in and sit down. They sit down right behind me. I turn around and open my mouth to say something, but never get the chance to speak. "I'm pretty sure you're not suppose to be talking. Would anyone like to argue with that?" A man tells us. We all stay quiet after that.

Jessica's P.O.V.

"Well," Andrew starts, "if this is a normal study hall, then that means we can talk." I really don't want to talk to them. The last time I talked to them it wasn't very fun. Jake may be viewed as popular, but I'm not, and I'm perfectly okay with that.

I pull out a book, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I've read this book about five times.

"Didn't you already read that?" Corbin asks.

"Maybe." I say still reading.

"What, you don't want to talk to us?" Andrew asks.

"Not really." I mumble.

"Why not?" Corbin asks.

"Why would I?"

"Oh... the book worms got teeth." Andrew teases.

"Really? Is that your nickname for me? Book worm, really?" I ask with a little laugh. I go back to reading, and they don't bother me for the rest of the period.

The next class I have is science. We go in and sit behind Jake. Jake turns around to talk to us, but gets cut off. "I'm pretty sure your not suppose to be talking. Would anyone like to argue with that?" a guy in a mask asks. We all stay completely silent until the teacher starts class.

After science I have math, social studies, then lunch. Both classes I have with Jake, but today I also have them with Mellissa. If she gets shot by one of these guys, I'm not going to feel sorry for her.

At lunch, we're allowed to sit with our friends. Justin goes over to sit with his friends and other guys like Jake. All of the boys sit at one table. All of the eighth graders that is, no seventh graders ever sit at that table or girls, other that my friends and me did one day. They ended up sitting with us that day, and Jake not talking to me for two days, because I embarrassed him. That's my job since I'm his sister.

I sit with my friends, which means no Mellissa. We sit, eat, and talk about anything but what's going on.

"So I had this dream last night," our friend Lucille starts, "That we all went on a field trip. It was four of us, my sister Lilly, Andrew, Justin, Mrs. Clay, her math teacher, Sam, Tyler, Logan, and Mason. So we're all on this field trip to like the Mayan ruins, and we're all in one of the temples. Well there's like this button like thing on the wall. Mason goes over and is about to press it. We all yell at him not to, but he does it anyway. Jess, Lilly and I go to like the Middle Ages with Justin and Andrew. So we're in this castle and suddenly Lilly turns into a dragon. Justin and Andrew go hide in suits of armor, while Jess and I grab swords. Eventually we defeat her and she turns back into normal Lilly, and that's were my dream ended."

"Wow," I said, "and I thought I had weird dreams."

"Yeah, well you still do, just not as weird as mine." Lucille says.

"That's not helping you." I say.

"I'll just shut up now."

"Good idea."

"You should shut up too." She says.

Before I can say anything else I feel I hand on my back. "Jessica Kagan?" I turn and look. It's green eyes.

"Yes?" I ask.

"Come with me." Is all he says.
