Jake's P.O.V.
I'm woken up the next morning by the door to my room slammed against the wall. I jump up and look at the guy. "Eat up." He says handing me the food. He walks out slamming the door. Someone's not in a good mood this morning.
I look out the window and remember that it's my birthday. The first one that I won't be spending with Jess. I miss her so much. Heck I miss everything. How did this happen?
I get up and go to the bathroom. I splash some water on my face and look in the mirror. I see the cut on my forehead and run my hand over it, wincing as I touch it. It doesn't look too good either. This sucks.
I hear the door open and walk out if the bathroom. "What are you doing in there?" a guy asks.
"I-" the other comes in and shoves my medicine into my mouth and then water. I swallow it and then cough a little.
"Not eating the food we so graciously provided for you?" The guy asks. "Did you know that most children that are taken don't last the first twenty four hours? Those who do go through hell." He walks over and looks out the window as the other guy begins to talk.
"Then there is you. We give you a room, we don't bother you, we leave you alone unless to give you food, or medicine. You're lucky."
The other guy turns away from the window and faces me. "Eat, and if you don't, you'll be in trouble." He says and they leave, locking the door behind them."
About two hours later the door opens and one of the guys comes in. I stand up as he comes towards me. "Come on kid." He says pulling me out of the room.
They push me into another room. "What the-" I say as they put handcuffs on me, but I get cut off when they put a gag in my mouth.
"Hope that you're ready to talk to your parents." One of them says. My parents? I get to see them? Does that mean I get to see Jess too?
One of the guys opens up the computer, while the other one pulls me back.
"Mr. and Mrs. Kagan?"
"Yes?" Mom asks calmly.
"You know why we've contacted you right?"
"Because you have our son."
"Right and you know what you need to have to get him back?"
"We have to give you one million dollars."
"Correct and we'll tell you what to do with that, but right now you probably want to see your son." As he says that, I'm pushed forward.
"Jake," Mom says, "are you okay?" I nod my head. One of the guys comes over and takes the gag out of my mouth.
"I'm fine." I say.
"They didn't hurt you? What about the cut on your forehead?"
"It's fine, I'm fine. I can barely feel it."
"Are you sure Jake?" Dad asks.
"I'm sure."
"Well, that was sweet, but it's time for something else." One of the guys says. The gag is put back in my mouth, and I'm pulled out of the room.
"Jake!" Mom yells as I'm pulled out of the room, but I can't do anything.
"You're lucky kid," he says undoing the handcuffs back in the room I'm stuck in, "I heard things went south for your sister."
"What happened to Jess?" I ask when the gag is taken out of my mouth.
"I don't know, just that things went south for her. Even if I did know, what would be the fun in telling you?" He says leaving.
"God Jess, what happened?" I whisper to myself.
Ashton's P.O.V.
I go downstairs the next morning with Cole to see a woman in our kitchen that I've never seen before. "Who are you?" Cole asks.
"Oh sorry, I'm Mr. Noland's partner, Ella." She explains.
"He has a partner?" I ask.
"Yes, I do the technical stuff. We're going to track the calls today from your brother and sister."
"Oh." Cole says.
"I'll just leave you two be." She says walking out.
As I make breakfast Dad walks in. None of us says anything until Mom comes in. "Good Morning." She whispers kissing the top of our heads.
"Morning." Cole says, but I don't say anything.
"Is something wrong Ashton?" Mom asks.
"No, what could possible be wrong?" I ask sarcastically.
"You will not be disrespectful." Dad yells. I go back to making my breakfast. How can they ask if something's wrong.
It doesn't take long before the computer goes off. Everything goes smoothly until Dad says no.
"No?" I ask.
"No what?" Cole asks.
"No." he says again.
He walks away and Mom follows. All I can here is Jess' screaming, and watching Dad walk away. "Nice chatting with you boys." The guy says before the screen goes black.
"What went wrong?" Dad asks, looking over at Ella.
"I couldn't trace it." She says looking at her screen. "I could only see that they're north west of us."
"North west?" I question, "Does that include like, Canada?"
"Yes, unfortunately it does." She confirms.

Later the computer goes off again. Mom and Dad both answer it. "Mr. and Mrs. Kagan?" they ask.
"Yes?" Mom asks back.
"You know why we contacted you right?"
"Because you have our son." She replies.
"Right, and you know what you need to get him back?"
"We have to give you one million dollars."
"Correct and we will tell you what to do with that, but right now you probably want to see your son."
From where I'm standing I can see him. He looks fine except for the cut on his forehead. Are they giving him his medication?
"Jake are you okay?" Mom asks.
"I'm fine." He says.
"They didn't hurt you, what about the cut on your forehead?"
"It's fine, I'm fine, and I can barely feel it." He says.
"Are you sure Jake?" Dad asks.
"I'm sure." He says.
"Well that was sweet, but it's time for something else." One of the guys says putting a gag in Jake's mouth.
"Jake!" Mom yells, but Dad calms her down.
"Now, what you're going to do is take the money, and go ten miles north. There, there will be a trashcan. Bring the money and then put it in. come back in twenty- four hours and your children will be there. You will have the money there no later than noon." With that they cut the video.
"They've hurt him." Mom tells Dad. Dad rubs her back and turns to Ella and Mr. Noland.
"Anything?" he asks.
"Yes," Ella says, "I have a location for him." We all rush over and look at the screen.
"Is that in Canada?" Cole asks.
"Yes it is." Ella confirms. Jake and Jess are in Canada.
