~~~Chapter 16~~~
I cleared my throat. "Um...hi," I answered just a little out of my comfort zone. I mean, I was standing in the ladies toilets with a guy that had a crush on me and also, just had to buy me pads. A little awkward? I think so.
"I have to um...get back to Connor. Um..." I carried on, not exactly sure how this was going to work out. My neck was stinging a little bit a if a mosquito had bitten it.
How was I meant to be friends with him when I was obviously on a contract with the Krows? I had absolutely no idea.
"I'll text you," he said politely.
"Right. Okay. Seeyou."
We said our goodbyes and parted ways. It was pretty awkward if I must say so myself. What would I tell Connor? Would I tell him or just leave it? I didn't know.
I walked to the spot where Connor and Nate had moved our things. It was pretty much empty of people. I had walked passed clusters and clusters of people but for some reason, in this area, there were no people - excluding us.
"Hey honey," Nate said, looking up at me from his spot on the sand. "Why are you frowning?"
I was frowning? I mean, my neck was stinging a lot more then it was before.
I reached out to touch my face an sure enough, my mouth was twitching downwards. I put on a smile. "I don't know."
"That's better," Nate laughed.
It was getting pretty dark and we almost had to go. The moon was out already, high in the sky.
I walked over to where Connor was lying, "I think we should start packing up now. It's getting pretty late and we -"
"Holy shit!" He whisper shouted, cutting me off halfway through my sentence.
I was a little frightened to be completely honest. His eyes were wide open and he was staring at me.
"What? What's wrong?" I whispered loudly back.
I looked around behind me to see if anything was abnormal was happening behind my head but everything was normal at least in my eyes.
He brushed my hair away from my neck. His mouth turned into an 'o' when he stared at my neck.
I attempted to look at my own neck but of course failed. "What?!" I hissed, getting quite pissed off. He was just staring at my neck and it creeped me out. Was he going to suck my blood like Ryan had? Of course not. He wouldn't do that.
"Your birthmark...it's...glowing."
What? What the hell was that meant to mean? That sounded absolutely ridiculous.
Although it was the wrong time but I was kind of hyperventilating at our close proximity. He was so close to me as was still holding my hair back. My stomach fluttered.
"It's glowing!" He said, cutting me out of my stupid thoughts.
Glowing? "What do you mean?" I asked, confused. I could tell my frown had come back onto my face.
"It's literally glowing. Nate!" He called out. "Come 'ere!"
Nate came rushing to us, kicking sand everywhere. "What's wrong?" He asked, sounding just as confused as I was.
"Look at her butterfly birthmark..." Connor said, sounding a little amazed.
Nate turned to look at me then shrugged; a maybe-he's-going-crazy shrug. I'm not sure how he manage that, but he did. He looked at my neck and gasped.
