§ V A L E N T I N A §

I knew that by all means I only had a few minutes before I would be dead or unconscious, or whatever. However, I wasn't going to die by the hands of this guy without him getting killed too. It was sinister but I wanted to die having done something important for myself.

I stood up and knew the metal deck chair was my only chance. My hand gripped onto it and the metal was surprisingly soft, like silly putty, but I had no time to wonder why the metal was like that. The chair was light and easy to hold, and I hoped it would actually make an impact.

My head felt like there were tons of needles poking onto and the side I was stabbed with started to sting, but I did my best to ignore it as I closed my eyes and swung the chair.

I only heard the sound of glass breaking and I could hear the loud shatter of glass followed by glass pieces falling onto the floor.  I missed by swinging the wrong fückïng direction and into the window. Oh my God.

"You missed, the poison is working, you're delirious," the man said behind me. I gritted my teeth in anger but also in pain.

Using all my force, I swung the chair with as much strength as my burning arms had right onto his head. The collision caused a loud crack and his body fell to the flood and I could see blood trickling out of a harsh looking gash on his forehead. I caught a glance at his blonde hair turning red with blood.

"If I was delirious I wouldn't have been able to understand you," I said breathing heavily.

Then I spotted the lounge chair and began making my way to it. I might as well die on a comfortable chair.

But suddenly, a jolt of pain sprang up my legs and up my whole body. I immediately collapsed to the floor as I lost control of my legs. My head smashed onto the broken glass and I could hear it crunch under me.

Another jolt coursed through my body. This time, it rested at my stomach and chest, and intensified, and then there was the pain from the glass.

A long scream of pain left my mouth and I squinted my eyes shut trying to stop the pulsing pain. My body reacted by curling up into a ball and I knew that the glass was scraping everything, and now I regretted wearing shorts.

The fear became real when I couldn't even breathe properly. It felt like my throat was closing, all my muscles were refusing to listen to my brain, and the heartbeat I could hear through my ears had drastically slowed down.

I didn't know why, but it hurt so much. Even though I was cold, I began sweating tremendously. My lungs had no air, but I was still screaming. I felt like I was getting small cuts on the inside of me and then someone proceeded to pour lemon juice over them. The stinging, searing pain.

Tears were flowing down my face and just them touching my face felt like I was getting burned. The ground was burning me, ny clothes were made of needles and the glass was cutting into me and stabbing into me repeatedly.

The pain had finally stopped for just a second, but then everything started getting out of focus. I couldn't smell anything, couldn't taste the blood from my lip, everything I heard sounded like I was underwater, and I could only see black even though I could feel my that my eyes were open. Everything I felt was intensified and when the pain rushed back, it was everywhere. Yes, everywhere.

I had thought it was over, but it was so, so, so much worse. Every millimeter of my body was in that similar stinging, burning pain.  And I couldn't help the screaming even though my lips and throat hurt even from just the vibrations. Hell, I didn't even know if I was screaming since I couldn't hear, I just felt the vibrating pain in my throat.

Next thing I knew, I could practically feel the acid ride up my throat in slow motion, putting more pain on the pain I thought couldn't get any worse. For sure I had thrown up but I had no proof of it.

As I heaved for air, I literally felt my throat slit open from the inside and all this blood trickle down. And more acid traveled up my bleeding throat, which hurt more and more.

So there actually was pain worse than what I was experiencing.

The pain suddenly intensified around different areas of my body and I jolted in pain, which was provably as much as I could move.

I could suddenly feel the frigid air freezing my skin and I could feel the icy burn. My body was sweating yet I felt cold. The beads of sweat and tears stung every area they touched and the screaming and coughing made my throat and lungs burn more.

When I was convinced the endless pain was going to happen for what felt like forever until I was so weak that I would eventually die. But it would be much, much worse than my almost-death experience.

After what must have been several tormenting hours, the pain became quite a bit fainter. It was still there, it still wasn't tolerable, but I felt so much better than when it first started.

I couldn't focus on what I was seeing, but I could see blotches of gray and blue. My body felt a bit warmer, and mainly in my chest. In the back of my head I considered it being my heart beating too fast, which was weird because I was so tired.

A fuzzy voice spoke into my ear.

"You're not gonna die, not on my watch."

Then, I everything went black as I went unconscious.

Or I probably died.

I had a really hard time trying to come up with an ending for this chapter, and that's why it's so crappy.
