So what if one of the main reasons for auditioning was because Mark wanted to be petty? Sure, he didn't have to go to the lengths of changing all of his life plans (even if he didn't have many to begin with) in order to fix the injustices that Yuta was suffering from, but he was going to do it anyway. However, standing in front of Pledis Entertainment, he started to feel nervous.
He stuttered his name and information to the grumpy lady at reception, who then pointed him towards the lifts. Mark looked at the direction she pointed him in; he couldn't see any lifts. As he was about to ask for clarification, he was met with a harsh stare and decided against it. So, Mark left the miserable woman at her desk and wandered in the supposed general direction of the lifts, hoping to ask someone for help, but to his dismay his usually extroverted personality shrank. He always had a lot of confidence, but something about everyone passing him looking like they had a real purpose was intimidating - they looked far too busy and Mark didn't want to interrupt them.
To make things worse, many people began to surround him, leaving to go to lunch. Thinking about it, an audition at 1pm didn't seem to be the best of ideas. Honestly, Mark just felt grateful that Pledis has accepted his application and invited him to formally audition - that, and the perfect timing that allowed Mark to even be there, what are the chances that Pledis was holding auditions for new idols right when he needed it? Slim to none. Mark was going to call it fate, not jinx it and leave it at that.
His daydreaming came to an abrupt halt when a hand grabbed him and pulled him out of the sea of people.
"Just what do you think you're doing?! You looked like you were going to get crushed-" The unknown man scolded him.
"Uhm, I was looking for the lifts? I need to get to my audition, sorry." Mark mumbled, head hanging.
"Don't look so apologetic,, , I could show you to the lifts if you'd like?"
Mark perked up at that. "You would?? Thank you so much! I'm Mark by the way, who are you?"
"Oh! I should have started with the introduction first,, , hi, I'm Seungkwan. I'm one of the trainees here at Pledis, and I hope you'll be joining us soon."
"Nice, but I'm so nervous, how did you do it?"
"With my charisma of course, and maybe the singing helped" He said while rolling his eyes.
"Ah, I see"
Seungkwan continued to talk as Mark followed him to the lifts.
"Here you go, press the button for the fourth floor and then take the third door on the right once you get off."
"Thank you again, I'd really like to get to know you better, so could I get your number?" Mark asked hopefully.
"Uh sure, but try not to hit on me too much, I know I'm hot- control yourself" Seungkwan shrugged as he surrendered his phone to Mark.
"..."
"Yeah, and Vernon doesn't like it when other men flirt with me"
"Who's Vernon?"
"He's another trainee and my best friend"
"Just best friends?"
"Yeah, but you wouldn't think so with how obsessed the man is with me" Seungkwan said with a smug smile.
"Right, I'd just like to clarify that Vernon doesn't need to get jealous because I'm not attracted to you."
"Hey! I take offence to that-"
