Niall's POV:
It has only been a couple of days since we brought Lacey home from the hospital but that didn't stop Lyndsey's folks from flying out. It's not that I don't love her folks, bloody hell I love playing golf with her dad and her mother has been a huge help with Lacey, but the problem is that they have overstayed their welcome. Heck, I walked out of the bedroom the other day, only to see her mother, braless. I had to quickly close my eyes but that didn't get rid of the image that replayed in my head so I had to distract myself right away.
Today, I went into the great room where Lacey was asleep in her crib while Lyndsey had just woken up from a nap. I quietly walked over to her and squatted down on the floor.
"How was your nap? Feeling any better?" I asked.
"I feel better but I am still so tired," She began. "I feel like a bowling ball who constantly has to feed or change a human being. I just want to be able to sleep in peace again and to wear my old clothes again."
"Oh love," Niall blurted as he stroked my cheek and pressed his sweet, soft lips to mine.
"Do you think I'm a mess?"
"You are not a mess," Niall assured. "You a sexy redhead who is a new mother."
Lyndsey wiped away a tear from her cheek. Just then, Lyndsey's mother leaned over the railing of the second level, without her bra on, and shouted, "Lyndsey, have you seen my bra? I seem to have misplaced it again."
Lacey woke up from her nap and began crying. Lyndsey was not happy so she sat up, looked up at her mother, and replied, "Check your bedroom! And don't shout in this house, you woke Lacey up!"
She was about to stand up to get the baby when I quickly stood up and said, "I'll get her."
I gently grabbed Lacey from her crib and held her close to my head as we joined Lyndsey back on the couch. I laid back while she rested comfortably on my chest.
"Do you think it's time that your parents head back home?"
"You are so right," Lyndsey admitted. "I can't take it much more but they do help with Lacey."
"Love, I got you. I'll take care of her while you catch up on rest. We don't need your parents anymore." I explained. "But please, I can't take another day of your mother looking for her bra."
She broke out laughing. I laughed too but I was serious.
"Alright, you've got a deal," Lyndsey agreed. "I'll talk to my parents."
Lyndsey's lips met mine. They were so soft that I didn't want her to pull away.
"You know, if Lacey wasn't on my chest right now, I would pick you up and carry you upstairs to the bedroom," I whispered.
"Hahaha, Niall," Lyndsey blushed. "Stop it!"
I couldn't take my eyes off of her because even at her worst, she looked the best. She leaned in close to where her lips were centimeters from my ear and said softly, "I love the thought but if you so much as move and wake that baby, you will never have that reality."
Lyndsey stood up from the couch and walked off, leaving me alone in the great room with a sleepy Lacey.
