CHAPTER 14

"But how?" Will questioned, "He's a male, that doesn't make sense."

'This is it.' Val thought feeling uncomfortable and wired.

"My dad..Nico, was blessed - although, he thinks it's a curse - by Aphrodite." Val began. "She blessed him with the ability to birth a child from his own womb."

Looks of shock spread on the faces of the present teens. Nico however was conflicted between shock and anger.

He didn't know whether to feel blessed or cursed to have that ability. He was a male, yes he was gay, but he was very proud of his manhood. Now to be told he had the ability to fall pregnant and give birth...that wounded his pride.

He was so angry, he was about to stand up and yell at the gods for his curse, more partucularly, he wanted to yell at Aphrodite.

But then he saw Val.

Val his beautiful future daughter. Val who had fair skin that looked so fragile. Val who was more often than not always trying to be secluded, Val who was impulsive because she was easily triggered. Val with long dark hair and sea-green eyes, 'Percy's eyes'.

His heart slowed to an average beat as he slowly calmed down, his hardend glare and features softened as he looked at Val.

'It really was a blessing. She really was a blessing.' And Nico realized he was actually thanking Aphrodite for her blessing.

"Since when?" Nico asked wanting to know how long he's had the blessing. "Since the camp found out you were a child of Hades." Helena responded.

Once again shock spread through the faces of the present teens.

After a moment of shocked silence, Will spoke up, "And how does Crystal fall into this?"

The future teens looked at each other as if thinking through a decision. "Crystal has always been with Val, ever since she was born." Luke said. "She's like Val's alter ego." Charles adds.

"Crystal is supoosed to be the opposite of all the positive traits Val has. She's supposed to be dark and ruthless and cunning. She's supposed to be negetive, a killer. She's supppsed to be icy cold, just like her appearance." Helena explained.

The present teens all remained silent, then shivered as the image of Crystal came to mind from both times at the beach.

"But appearances can be decieving, she's not all that bad." Charles said.

"Crystal doesn't get along with everyone except for those she considers friends and family." Val says.

Percy looks to Val then to Nico, then back to Val, "I guess that's something you three have in common." he says thinking back to how Val was when they first arrived compared to Nico.

"Can we meet her? Crystal I mean." Nico asked after carefully thinking through the threat Crystal might bring. Which, now that he thought about it, wasn't really a threat because everyone in that cabin was basically considered family and friend.

-----FUTURE TIME-----

One week had passed since Nico came to. Will had prescibed him two weeks of bed rest, but Nico being Nico and as stubborn as he is decided only one week was enough.

So, when that one week came to an end, Nico would always be at the Hephasteus bunker with Leo and Annabeth, trying to complete the time machine.

Even though Leo and Annabeth were very grateful for his help, they were still worried and concerned about his health. So every couple of hours, they would get him to sit down and rest or sleep.

Percy knew he couldn't stop Nico, especially with how determined the son of Hades was to find his daughter, he ended up always thanking Leo and Annabeth for their concern for his husband.

With the help of Percy, Jason, and occassionally Nico, the time machine Leo was building was close to finishing, actually, it was already built, they all were now just searching on what date their children were stuck in.

"Anything?" Percy asked as the women, which consisted of; Hazel, Piper, Annabeth and Calypso walked into the bunker. "No, nothing yet." Hazel answered in defeat. She was terribly worried for her only niece.

Jason sighed, "Where in Hades could they be!" he said in frustration raking his fingers through his hair while Piper rubbed his back soothingly.

All the adults stood or sat around the bunker, seriously thinking of all the research they had done and what time or year their children were in. Except for Nico, he was sleeping restlessly on the only bed that was moved into the bunker.

Percy sat down beside Nico sleeping figure he held onto Nico's hand feeling another rush of sadness and feeling like a failure, "I'm so sorry Neeks. I didn't mean for this to happen." he whispered.

Everyone remained silent watching the percico pair. "If I knew," Percy paused collecting his emotions, "If I had only known, I would have stopped this from happening. I would have stopped Val," Percy looked up at the adults around him, "I would have prevented them all from time travelling, if only I knew."

Calypso walked up to Percy and hugged him tightly in a comforting way.

"Don't blame yourself Percy." Calypso said when she pulled back, "If anything, we're all at fault. We were too protective and shielded them from our reality, from the monsters and challenges we faced. Yes we taught them everything we know, but they still wanted more."

"They just wanted an adventure of their own." Piper says sympathetically.

After a few moments of the adults brooding over what could be the truth, Leo exclaimed, suddenly remembering something.

"What is it?" Hazel asked. "I think I know where they are." Leo says. "Where?" Piper asked feeling hopeful again. "Jamie always talked about wanting to see the war with Gaia, he always wondered about the aftereffects of that war. How the camps were affected, how the demigods felt after that and what they did, how we reacted to that situation and what we did." Leo explained. Realization creeped upon the faces of the adults. They finally knew where their kids were, and they were going to get them back.
