The next day, Reki and Langa had to work after school. I sat all day in class lost in my mind, thinking about everything I could do with Reki now that we were officially dating. Well, I didn't want to rush or anything of course, but still. I could hold his hand all the time now, and hug him more, and touch... touch his hair!

"You're face is red, again." Miya growled, glancing up from his switch across from me.

Since Reki and Langa were working, I popped over to visit my brother before he opened the shop, and Miya somehow ended up here too. He didn't really say much, he'd probably been salty since that time at the hospital, he just sat down and started playing and my brother continued with his kitchen and food prep.

I had pudding in front of me - not my brothers, just a convenience store one Kojiro always kept in his fridge since I ate so much of it. I had some of my science homework laid out, and a sheet from the guidance counsellor asking about what I wanted to do when I graduated, but all I could think about was Reki. Now that he was more than just a crush I had, and I knew he had mutual feelings for me, it felt so surreal I could cry. And, I also just randomly blushed every time I thought of something I really wanted to do with him - which mostly consisted of some form of touching.

Is that my love language, like Kaoru mentioned in his lecture?! Touch?!

Then... based on what I know from Reki... his would be... probably words of affirmation. Yeah, totally!

"What are you even thinking about?" Miya decided to ask, which when we met eyes and he cringed he definitely regretted it.

"Reki."

Miya rolled his eyes, "Have you finally lost your mind with this love crap?"

"It's not crap!"

"Yeah it is!" He retorted quickly, "You've been gushing like a creep for like an hour. What could have possibly happened?! I know you're not happy because he was nominated to stand in Shadow's place against Adam."

My smile fell, "Of course I'm not. But, I'm still gonna support him."

He rolled his eyes, again, and I wondered if something like that could become a habit, "He's such an idiot. He knows too little about himself. He's sure to be injured badly!"

"He really is an idiot." Kojiro spoke as I frowned, but he was smiling when we looking over at him.

"Why do you look so amused?"

"Why? Because Reki came back, of course."

Miya froze, and I watched as his eyes widened and he whipped around back to me, "Is that true?"

I nodded, "Yeah. Him and Langa made up - and guess what else?!"

He blinked, leaning back and away from me, "...What?"

"I confessed to Reki, and he accepted my feelings!"

"WHAT?!"

"Oh, about that." Kojiro began, "I haven't told Koaru yet. Do you want to call him?"

I scowled, "He's just gonna end up lecturing me about the 'next stage of loving someone' or something. You just tell him!"

I met Reki and Langa after their shift was over, and Reki smiled when he saw me.

"Were you waiting long?"

"No! I actually thought I'd be late." I assured, and we turned to walk side by side, Langa on the other side of Reki, "So, to your place?"

"Yeah. Langa finally let me know my beautiful L2S was desTroYed!" Reki turned to glare at Langa, who looked away.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled, and then Reki sighed as I scoffed a laugh.

"It's fine, I'll have to look at it again in my shop."

I looked up to the sky, the clouds were gathering and they looked pretty dark. The air even smelt thicker than normal, a little trick my dad taught me when I was younger. Smell the air and you'll be able to tell if it's gonna rain, the same way it smells after it's rained.

"Reki?" I called, hearing his hum of a reply as our knuckles brushed against each others, "Do you like the rain?"

He hummed again, and our fingers touched, "It's alright. I don't like getting wet, though."

"I like the way it smells." I giggled lightly at how weird it sounded, and he finally grabbed my hand in his, "But, it's better from a safe distance, huh?"

"Yeah. What about thunder and lightning?"

"I like that too. I always used to watch the lightning out the window when I was little." I readjusted my fingers to grip his hand better, and we kept talking and walking like nothing was going on. Maybe he thought Langa wouldn't be able to tell if we acted natural.

"What about you, Langa?"

"It's annoying. You can't snowboard in the rain, because it messes up the snow. Can you even skate in the rain?"

"It's not impossible." Reki replied, rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb, "But it does make things complicated, and cleaning your board after is a hassle."

"I see." Langa replied, sighing heavily.

-

In Reki's little shop, he glared down at his broken creation with crossed arms and a frim gaze. Langa kept fidgeting, looking around then looking back to Reki, and then eventually he just stood their like a statue waiting for Reki to say something. He must have been horrified when it broke.

"No good."

Langa jumped up, "It can't be fixed?!"

"It's already snapped, so..." Reki trailed off, and Langa groaned as he croached down and away from his board and us.

Yeah, he definitely went into crisis mode when it broke, especially since Reki was mad at him at the time. It was probably hard enough that he would have thought Reki would get more mad at him if he saw it broken.

"I always realize things after I lose them." Langa began, "Like I did with you, Reki. About how much I cherished..."

Reki knelt down beside him, "If it's broken, you just gotta fix it! Just like us."

I stepped over and slapped them both on the back, "The solemn phase is over, boys! Langa, don't look so down!"

"That slap hurt..."

"Brighten up! Boards get replaced all the time, it doesn't take away anything, really, it just adds to it! Doesn't it mean you're growing?"

"I... I guess."

"Just like getting your next level belt in martial arts!"

"I... I don't think it's the same thing."

"Really?"

Reki moved to open one of his drawers and we turned our attention back to him, seeing an entire drawer full of wheels. Which- what the HECK- this drawer probably cost a fortune! How did he get all these?! Did he- did he make them? Are they left overs or something from the store?! Discounted?!

I... I really need to get a job.

"This is awesome." Langa commented as I swam in my thoughts of imaginary money.

"I made these ones!" Reki claimed excitedly, pulling out a bunch of them so we could get a closer look.

One, had spikes all over it, which really concerned me. What if you fell and your board flew up and then landed on you? You'd literally get stabbed! He moved on to another one with grooves, which Reki explained to be like car tires. It was meant for the rainy weather, which is something I'd never seen before.

Honestly, why hadn't I seen this before? These should be more common!

Then again, no idiot would voluntarily skate in the rain when it's cold and wet and you're at risk of getting a fever.

But, if it was going to rain during Reki's skate with Adam - his creation could be his win. Even if Adam throws him around like a rag doll, once it rains, Reki will have the upper hand and Adam will slip up. Adam's just a good skater once he's on his board - but Reki's a good skater on the board and off the board, behind the scenes with every thing that goes in to skating.

And now this idiot genius is my boyfriend!
