Over the next few days Senku and Chrome worked hard to make laboratory glassware for their experiments. Unfortunately, not a single one came out looking even remotely similar to a beaker, a flask, or anything at all.

"It looks like a kid made it..."

"You try making it then!"

"Aha, no thank you!"

"It was our first try though, it took me months to get the clay pots done correctly—"

"Months?! We don't have that much time!!" -Chrome

"Yeah what about Ruri's health!" -Kohaku

"This is all we got, we can only do this through trial and error we're not professional craftsmen after all."

"Wait a craftsman? I think I know someone. Come with me." -Chrome guided us towards the entrance to the village, behind him was an old man tied up like a beast.

"Huh?! Who the hell is that old fart?!"

"Senku! Oh my goodness we SEVERELY need to work on your first impressions."

"Oh come on you said you didn't like kids the first day you saw Suika and now- look you're even holding her hand!"

"That's different!"

"How is it different?"

"Because it's me."

"What kinda logic is that?"

"The kind of logic that's going to save your ass the day you mysteriously fall off a cliff—"

"Come on Old Man Kaseki! Please help us! We need your expertise!" -Chrome

"That is no way to ask for favors! By tying me up for your kinky rope play?! No thank you!" -Kaseki

"Pftt he said kinky." I laughed and nudged Senku's side a little too harshly. My eyes widened and I immediately apologized.

"I'm not helping you sorcerers!" -Kaseki

"Ugh, see? He won't help us but he's the best choice we got." -Chrome

"Oh Grandpa Kaseki? I forgot to return your lacquer to you. I'm sorry." -Suika

"Oh that's right, thank you Suika but I can't exactly hold it right now." -Kaseki

"Hey old man, is Kohaku's fantastic shield a work of yours?"

"It is, it was a gift for Kohaku's father when he won the Grand Bout. I put my all into that shield. Gosh that really takes me back..." -Kaseki
