Chapter 22

"I'm always ready to catch you."

Napakunot ang noo ko at dali-daling tinanggal ang hawak ko kay Sky kasabay ng pag-aayos ko ng tayo.

"Are you practicing your lines on me?" I raised a brow as I realized that it was one of his lines for the play. Nabanggit na niya 'yon kanina sa office nung nagpapractice silang lahat kaya namukhaan ko siya.

"You can say that." He finally said as he started walking towards the others.

Pagdating namin sa courtyard ay marami na ang tao na nakasalubong namin. Some were chatting with their co-actors and some were busy practicing their lines. Nasa may mini stage sila Silvero at Ian dahil base sa nakita ko ay scene na nila ang rinerehearse nila.

Iniwan ko si Sky sa harap ng mini stage at hinanap si Reece. I saw her talking with another man as they both observed their rehearsal and seemed to also look at the blockings. I'm pretty sure the man beside her is the director of the play. And I recognized him, Gregorio Matthew, because he was often the face behind our successful school plays.

"I think Eunice needs to be on the center as she delivers her lines-" The man stopped talking as he saw me approach them. Napataas ang mga kilay niya nang tumungo ako sa harapan niya, as a sign of greeting.

"Hello I'm Sky's assistant, Alyssa po. Nice to meet you Sir Gregorio." I smiled.

He offered me a handshake and I gladly accepted it. "Hello, just call me Sir Gboy. Masyadong formal kasi pakinggan yung Gregorio." Napatawa na lang ako ng saglit at nakisama na lang sa kanila sa usapan nila. I made sure not to be a burden so I just stayed quiet as they moved on to the next scene. If I am correct, the next scene will be a solo of one of the female main characters. 

The title of their play is The Masked Lover. The genre is teen romance and it talks about the love story of a group of friends that fell in love with another group of friends. That's all I know about the play since I was not allowed to see the full script. Today was the first time that I was seeing their everyday rehearsals. Masyado kasi akong naging busy sa thesis namin at ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng time.

"Eunice don't speak." Napatingin ako sa stage at doon lumabas ang babaeng nakausap ko kanina. I wasn't able to ask her name but now I finally knew it.

Sir Gboy went up the stage as he directed and helped her with her solo performance. Mukhang alam din nila na masama ang condition niya ngayon dahil hindi nila siya pinagsalita. As I was staring at her performance, I suddenly met her eyes when she was looking at our side from the audience.

Dahil dito ay napakunot ang noo ko nang makita kong may sinabi siya kay Sir para mapatingin din siya sa akin.

"Alyssa 'diba?" He pointed at my direction as the attention was suddenly on me. "Tara rito." Hindi ako umimik at dali-daling umakyat sa stage, obviously knowing what he wanted to talk about. Pagdating ko sa pwesto nila ay ngumiti siya sa akin.

"Um ganito kasi 'yan.. The show's in 4 days and there are some songs that she needs to record." He paused, waiting for me to say something. "It's a huge favor, are you sure you're willing to do it?" I smiled at him as I reassured that I wouldn't change my mind. Dahil dito ay mas lalo lang lumawak ang ngiti niya sa akin.
