Wei Wuxian looks at the duo in front of him, one of them currently holding his heart in their tiny little hand and the other who once did.
What are the odds that he would meet this man again and because of his son at that, fate can really be peculiar indeed.

Lan Sizhui sneaks a glance at his mom and feel even more hopeless spotting the uncertainty in those dark gray eyes, those always confident and clear gray eyes.
Now he's really done it hasn't he.

"Wei Ying, you went too far."

The words are gritted through teeth and thrown at him like venom and Wei Wuxian visibly flinch at the harsh tone coming from his equal or someone he used to regard as his equal on many levels.
There's only been one time in his life where Lan Wangji had spoken like this to him, and it's a memory he still wishes to forget.

"Lan Zhan, I.. You.."

Wei Wuxian stutters but he falls quiet when seeing the fire hidden in the glare thrown his way. Lan Wangji is really angry and it's never good to be the target in those cases, being at the short end of Lan Wangji's wrath is never something anyone would wish for.

"What are you planning this time Wei Ying?"

Lan Wangji harshly asks while pushing the child behind him protectively, the child in return peaks his head slightly to still look at Wei Wuxian although avoiding his eyes completely, making Wei Wuxian hurt even more in the progress.
The last thing he wanted was Yuan to look at him any different but sadly everything always goes against Wei Wuxian, it simply was his fate.

"I was planning to find out who Yuan belong to."

Wei Wuxian says calmly but Lan Sizhui spectating can hear the frustration hidden within.
Lan Wangji looks at him with that annoying stoic face making it impossible for Wei Wuxian to read what's going on inside his head.

"This is low even for you."

Wei Wuxian now looks like a question mark.
'What did I do? Does he mean being too late in the search for Yuan's parents?'
Wei Wuxian thinks to himself, he starts to suspect a misunderstanding has happened and he sighs because he already had enough of those with this guy.

"Lan Zhan, what do you really take me for?"

Wei Wuxian asks earnestly, even though the answer slightly scare him he still can't help asking the question. The golden tone of what he always regarded as beautiful eyes turns slightly darker as the scold deepens on the usually stoic face.

"Someone who never keeps their promises."

Wei Wuxian didn't expect an answer but like this day hated him even more he gets the worst one that he could have received. It hurt, it hurt way more than he would ever admit to himself yet alone anyone else.

"Lan Zhan you've never been the person who is unfair."

Wei Wuxian barely wshiper but Lan Wangji still hears the words, the scolding expression slightly falters but feeling Lan Sizhui's hand seek his Lan Wangji once again is reminded of why he's so furious.

"And you promised to stop playing your stupid games, for once I trusted you and you couldn't even commit to that."

This comment thrown at him now sparks something inside of Wei Wuxian, the audacity this man has is unbearable. It was Lan Wangji who walked out on him when he needed him the most almost eight years ago. It was he who made him break his promises in the first place, it was Lan Wangji who threw his life into chaos and then left without a single hesitation.
Wei Wuxian finally found pure happiness in his life again when a ball of sunshine walked into his little bubble and now because of Lan Wangji he will lose that again.
All this man does is hurt him and he still wants to tear into his scars, that spark inside of Wei Wuxian now slowly starts to bubble up into anger.

"If you wanted to hurt me, come to me directly don't involve my son."

Wei Wuxian's eyes turns large at the accusation, what is this man really taking him for, after all the time and memories they share this man believes he would use a literal child to get back at someone.
He loath Lan Wangji for what he did eight years ago but he isn't that desperate.
Apparently he must have left a terrible impression on the one year older male during their teens for him to think this low of him.
The fact that this man believes that he befriended his son on purpose to get back at him is ridiculous and Wei Wuxian feels the need to defend himself more than ever.

"No that's not.."

"I don't want to hear it, we're done here."

Lan Wangji cuts him off without even letting him start to explain and Wei Wuxian's eye twitches showing a sign of his annoyance. When he finally gets Lan Wangji to talk more than one word a sentence it's for the worst reasons.
