Chapter Two You gotta earn it baby girl ;)
It’s two thirty and I’m at the zoo with Annika, my kids and Criss-sans Danny, who’s sleeping in on his day off.
Annika’s deaf too so there’s no language barrier. ‘We should get something to eat before the kids start complaining.’ I suggest
We go to the food court and I get the twins and Oliver a hot dog each with a juice box. I get them out of their stroller and have them sit. It goes Oliver, then Annika, then Annie, then me, then Anna, then Criss. Criss gets us what we want to eat as Annika and I watch the little kids eat. ‘So it really doesn’t bug you that I have three kids-with one on the way?’ I ask her
‘Well, I mean everyone has a past. Is yours a bit more complicated than most? Yeah, but I like a challenge.’
Annika answers
I start laughing. ‘Challenge? This is like mission impossible four!’
‘Well, as long as there’s no spiders involved we’re good.’
Criss brings us our food and we start eating. I see Annie sign ‘Potty’.
‘I’ll take her.’
Annika volunteers
‘Thank you.’
I sign
Annika takes Annie’s hand, and they go to the restroom.
‘So do you think this is gonna last long?’
Criss asks me
‘I dunno, she’s a great girl.’
I sign then take a bite of my burger
‘Yeah, but I mean you have school, work, Oliver, the twins, the baby’s coming soon, then on top of that a divorce.’
‘I know, but it could lead to something great.’
‘I think you should just steer clear of girls for a while, Auggie.’
‘And I think you should just mind your own business before I really get mad.’
‘I’m sorry, Auggie. I just want you to be okay.’
“I’m okay, now shut up.” I tell him
Annika walks back with Annie. We then go to see the polar bears. “Remember seeing the penguins when you were little, buddy?” I ask him as I pick him up and put him on my shoulders
“Yeah, with mommy.” He says then looks at Annika
“Yeah, you were really little.” I whisper
I place him on my shoulders. The rest of the day was good too. I’m finally home with my kids and we’re watching the little mermaid. “I don’t wanna watch this anymore!” Oliver complains
“I know, kid but Anna wants to. Just wait until five so I can put them down for their nap.” I tell him
“No! I wanna watch Transformers.” He complains
“Buddy, seriously. Just wait.”
He stands up on the couch and start jumping up and down. He screaming and starts throwing a fit. I roll my eyes. “I can’t hear you.” I sing to him
He hits me with his tiny hand. I sigh with annoyance. I pick him up and take him to the kitchen. I grab a chair with me as he kicks me repeatedly. “You are just so cool.” I tell him
I drag the chair into a corner of the kitchen and seat my cry baby of a son on it. “You’re gonna stay here until you calm down. You try getting off it before the three minutes and I’m gonna spank you.” I warn him
