Auggie’s POV

I watch in horror as the blood runs down from in between Loretta’s legs. I grab her and sit her down. She’s crying, but I can’t hear her. I start shouting for Gabriel. He rushes out and gasps. “Shut up! Call 911!” I yell at him

And he does. I give Loretta my hand and whisper “It’s gonna be okay, I promise.”

It takes the ambulance fifteen minutes to get here. By that time, I’ve had Zeke text all my family to meet us at Mercy Hospital. I tell the EMTs I’m Loretta’s husband and get in the ambulance with them. I toss Zeke the keys to my car and tell him to meet me there. I laugh on the inside as Gabriel watches me take Loretta with them.

I see Loretta’s face twisted with agony. “You have to help her! Please! She’s only thirty weeks!” I cry desperately

We’re rushed to the hospital and taken to the delivery room.

Xander’s POV

We rush into the waiting room and I ask a nurse to check in on Loretta. She comes in and tells me that the baby was under too much distress and caused her to go into labor. We all wait and take up the whole waiting room. Criss, who’s the last to arrive, rushes in and takes off his beanie. “What the hell happened?” He asks everyone

“Loretta went into labor.” Eli tells him

“Oh, my god.” He gasps “But it’s so early…will she and the baby be okay?”

“We don’t know…”

He sits down and does what we’ve been doing for the last twenty minutes-waiting.

Eli’s POV

“God! I hate waiting like this. It’s awful.” I grumble

“Tell me about it.” Jace groans

“We’ve been here an hour and still know nothing.”

A doctor walks out and calls for the Moriarty family. Us brothers just stand up. “We’ve tried doing everything we can to stop labor, but she’s already dilated to six and there’s nothing else we can really do. I’m going to continue on with the delivery.” He explains

“Just make sure she’s okay.” We hear someone say

We turn to our left to see Loretta’s sister, Nina. “I will.” He promises her then goes back to the Delivery room

“Criss called me.” She states

“Oh,” Xander whispers

Auggie’s POV

“I’m not leaving you, I promise.” I tell her

She nods her head and screams from the pain. She’s practically crushing my right hand, but I let her anyways. I know better than to bitch. I see the doctor and he nods at me, indicating it’s time for her to push. “Okay, you can do this-”

Loretta cuts me off by screaming at me. I just shrink back a bit and shut up.

Loretta’s POV

I’m so tired and in so much pain. “Okay, Loretta, just one more big push and your baby’s here. I promise.” The doctor tells me

I nod my head and crush Auggie’s hand as I push. Five minutes later I see our baby in the doctor’s arms, but I can’t hear him cry. For a moment I question my own hearing ability. “What’s going on?” I question the doctor

He hands our baby to a nurse and she rushes him to the scale. “Why-why isn’t he crying?” I ask them

No one replies. “God damn it! Say something!” I scream
