Auggie’s POV
We’re at the hospital and signing the release papers for Hayden. When we finish the nurse tells Loretta and I “Congratulations, you have a son.”
Loretta starts crying and excuses herself while I put Hayden in his carrier. “Thanks, guys.” I tell the nurses and doctors
They smile at me and Loretta walks in. “Ready?” I ask her
She smiles and signs ‘Duh.’
“Good, let’s get this baby home.”
We go to the parking lot then find my car. I put Hayden in and buckle him in. Loretta gets in the back with him. I start driving to the house and can’t help my excitement to finally get my son home. I smile and just start humming.
Criss’s POV
‘Okay they’re here!’
I sign excitedly
‘Everyone get down! Now!’
Jace signs
I turn the lights off and grab Annie. “Shh, you gotta stay quiet.” I whisper to her
She puts her pointer finger to her lips. “Shh!” She mimics
Auggie and Loretta, her holding the baby carrier, walk in. We all jump up and sign ‘Welcome home Hayden!’
Loretta starts laughing and puts the carrier down and lifts the blanket. Everyone surrounds the baby, but Auggie butts in and says “Whoa, he’s been home for .5 seconds, he needs room to breathe.”
We all back up and Loretta gets Hayden out of the carrier. “Here is your family, Hayden.” She tells the tiny sleeping baby
‘I call holding him first!’
I sign
Auggie rolls his eyes, but Loretta hands me my new born nephew. “Oh, he’s so teeny. He’s like a little doll. Oh, my goodness.” I whisper
“He’s perfect.” I hear Danny mumble
“He is.”
“I wanna see the baby!” Oliver shouts excitedly
“Okay, but you gotta be quiet.” I tell him in a hushed tone
“I will! I promise!” He promises me in a hushed tone just like mine
“Go over to the couch and sit down.”
He hurries over to the couch then sits down next to Ami. I go over to him carefully then lean over and put Hayden in his arms. “You gotta support his head.” I tell my nephew
“He’s tiny.” Oliver points out
“Yeah, really tiny. You gotta be careful, okay?”
“Okay, hey! He has green eyes like me and Daddy!”
“Yeah, he does huh?”
“Yup. He’s a good little brother.”
We all laugh at that.
Haylee’s POV
“Look, Mase it’s Hayden. He’s your new cousin.” I tell my son as I hold Hayden in my arms
“Baby!” Mason laughs
“Yeah, baby.” I agree
“My baby?”
“No, Lori’s baby.”
“I want baby.”
“We’ll have to talk about that later.” Xander stammers uncomfortably
