Loretta’s POV

It’s been two weeks since Auggie’s incident and he’s now in therapy twice a week. Ian’s the only one who knows and we plan on keeping it that way. Auggie seems to be doing better, I think. Well, he doesn’t talk to me much-to anyone really. But I’d like to believe he’s trying to deal with things his own way and I can give him his space.

It’s Saturday, December seventh and we’re having Ami’s baby shower. She’s having a boy and they’ve decided to name him Dax Leonardo Moriarty. “Congratulations!” We all shout excitedly as she walks into the living room of Xander and Haylee’s house

The guys went out while we had the baby shower. “Aw! Guys! Shit! I said I wasn’t gonna cry!” She laughs

She walks into the living room and sits down beside her mother, Kara. We all start doing our own thing. Anne Marie walks into the living room. “Mommy! Beth stole my doll! Mommy!” She cries

“You sure your ready, Ami?” I laugh as I go over to my daughter and pick her up

“No, not at all, but I’m preparing for the worst.” She jokes

“As you should.” Haylee tells her

“So, tell me, you’re husband has how many brothers?” Ami’s sister Anniah asks Ami

“Seven.” Ami answers her

“And they’re all married and or taken?”

“Yup.”

“Fuck. Well how many are in this family?”

“Hmm, not counting little Dax, 19.”

“Holy shit.”

“And surprisingly enough we’re all pretty close.” Kandace tells Anniah

“Damn. And I though we were smothered with the four of us.” Anniah laughs

Ami’s mom, Becca gets up and walks over to the kitchen. “Mommy? I want

a cupcake.” Annie tells me

“All right, baby. Let’s go get a cupcake.” I tell her

We walk into the kitchen and I see Ms. Rebecca Carlson helping herself to the food. I put Annie down at the table and hand her a cupcake. “Just don’t get your dress dirty, okay?” I advise her

“Okay, Mommy.” She says

“So Annie and Beth are your twins?” Ms. Carlson asks me

“Yeah, they are.” I tell her as I grab myself a plate

“How old are they?”

“Three.”

“And they’re your only kids?”

“Uh, no I have two other kids. Oliver, he’s five and Hayden, he’s two months.”

“Oh, my. You sure have your hands full, don’t you?”

“Yeah, I do.”

“And how old are you?”

“Twenty one…”

“Oh, honey. Don’t feel ashamed around me. I was nineteen when I had Adam and he’s the youngest.”

I smile at her comment. At least I know I’m not alone.

Auggie’s POV

‘You’ve been really quiet tonight, why is that?’

Xander asks me
