Floor 50: Algade, Boss Chamber
"Hiyaaaaa!" The blue flash of my sword skill hits below the bosses body. We've been attacking this boss for at least an hour now. It's only down to half health. This would be a lot easier if we had Kirito here. The boss had a giant, red, snake-like body, with fangs half the size. It's tail ended in a point that spewed out poison. It's name was "The Poisonous Devourer".
I run up and swing my katana straight at its mid-section when I look over and see someone get too close to it's tail and get covered in poison. Seconds later, they burst into polygons. This is bad, my health is down to about half, but I only have one crystal left. A flash of white streaks past my vision as Asuna jumps up and strikes the serpents head. It's a straight, clean hit, but the boss is barely fazed. It's turns and gets ready to fire at her when Silica slashes the tail.
The tail turns around and whacks Silica sending her flying backwards and into the red zone. Lizbeth runs up and heals her with a crystal. We are at a severe disadvantage. While it is true the game has gotten easier, that doesn't mean anything when going up against the quarterly bosses.
"KLEIN LOOKOUT!" I hear my name being screamed right as one of its fangs sinks into my body. My HP goes red and I reach towards my pouch to grab a crystal, but I cant move my arms. That's when I notice the paralysis symbol next to my HP gauge. I sigh, I guess this is how I go. Suddenly the fang gets cut in half and my HP stops falling. "HEAL!" I hear Lizbeth scream and my HP goes back to about 3/4 health.
Whew.. that was close. I try to get up but paralysis is still in effect. I might as well be a sitting duck right now. So I just lay there unable to move while I have people around me defending me. It's killing me to watch them risk themselves for me. The serpent takes another hit and it goes into the red zone. Its scales perk up and start to shine. Then start flying out in all directions as if they were needles. A few catch the people in front of me and I see the Poison Marker next to their health bar.
Their health slowly starts to decline and they fall down and start breathing heavily. I notcie that it's scales have yet to regrow. "Everyone! It doesn't have any armor! Strike now!" Everyone starts charging at the snake with all of their weapons glowing. My paralysis wears off and I get up and charge. My katana starts glowing yellow signaling my fire sword skill is ready to use. I shove it right into the back of the serpent.
Its eyes go red as its health empties. It starts to glow a light blue, and then shatters into millions of shards. A huge congratulations shows up above our heads. I look down and see a window saying, "Congratulations! You got the last attack bonus!" Below it I see the item. Its a red cloak, it provides Katana mastery +50, HP +745, and Speed +300.
I sit there sweating and panting. It was the longest hour and a half of my life. But at least we are now done with Floor 50. Floor 51 is now available, Jenwire. Everyone goes up to activate the teleport beacon. I decide to head up as well, I need to get back home to Floor 44, Zantic. I come up on the next floor, but gasp at what I see. It's a giant stone, carved into it are the names of the fallen. Written on it is a message, "Congatulations on beating Floor 50! As a reward, I will allow 5 people to be revived. Choose wisely! -Kayaba Akihiko"
On it I see all the faces of the fallen, and when I look out on to the field outside the town, I see ghostly images of all those who are dead, same weapons, same equipment. Everyone's eyes grow big, some even start to cry. We all decide on the first person we should pick, and everyone nods their head. Asuna takes the honor, and goes up to the stone and pushes the button next to the picture.
Polygons begin to form something in front of us, soon you can tell it's someone, a male. His facial features soon come into focus. When fully formed, he stands up and looks around with one sword in his hand. His black eyes get a determined look on them, "Alright, I am back, let's see what else Kayaba has in store for us!" His Blue-Green sword sweeps he air above him, as he races off into the distance and the field.
The crowd starts to follow, whereas I am just standing there dumbfounded. Just with a push of the button, Kirito is back.
